I have several customers who have had to replace (rebuild) their engines due to the use of K&N filters. I didn't mean to start a argument. The picture is of one the desert race team I sponsor had on the shelf hence the bent places. They oiled it right and that was after one race.
I have no idea about the outwear being on this one or not but it does not really matter as it's job is to trap the large particles.
I like the Uni foam filters with oil. I don't have any experience with S&B cotton gauze filters but I do know they have more material.
K&N are good for racing but won't be on my everyday vehicle. If I needed to drag race down a paved road, yes but other wise no.
