Question

I just went thru the same issue and your description is the exact symptoms of the problem I was having sorry to say hopefully you have an extended warranty? as they are $598.00!!! for a new oneI tested a fuel pump from another car on mine and it worked fine. Kawasaki tested mine and determined it was bad. They covered it 100% under extended warranty Good luck to you, Chad.

We have replaced two 09+ fuel pumps in our shop. Your other option is to get the billet mount made by Muzzys and use an aftermarket fuel pump. We can help you out with those items if you decide to go that direction. Good luck with it!

I have posted before, i took mine into the dealer i bought it from (JSU) and they had kawi replace mine free of charge and i was way out of warranty. This was less than 6 months ago. Kawie acknowledge they had some bad fuel pumps that year and they were failing far sooner than its MTBF. Your mileage with your dealer may very but it might be worth it to try.

I used a stock pump[ think it had to be 70 psi] from autozone .Took the housing apart went to the local parts store and found the same diameter but not the same length [was a inch longer]. drilled the size of the housing bigger for the pump outlet .Used a 4 inch pvc pipe for an extesion on top of the tank with longer bolts.[I opted to use a 6" sock on the bottom of the pump so the anti-splash i left off] Been running this for 6 months and no problems and cost about 70 bucks.

Wow. Cool. I am shocked the PVC is holding up to the fuel.
