Big problems... Help!

This may be a bit long but ill try to make this straight to the point, i had 4 hrs on the 2012 Teryx prior to this past weekends ride and now currently have about 15hrs.

Rode for 2 days everything was awesome the third day prior to riding I checked my oil and the dipstick didnt read a drop... and YES I did check the fluids prior to the weekends ride! So I topped it off again, checked my air filter which was saturated in dirt and dust so I cleaned and headed towards the trail and as I did she smoked white smoke like there was no tomorrow ...

Here are my questions and concerns:

A: how in the heak did I go through more then 2 quarts of oil? And why?
B: Any idea what the could be the issue and what damage could have been done?

I have so many questions and concerns but I think this may be a good start. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated as I am freaking out... lol

BTW: I have Muzzy pipes, MSD and UNI filter

Two words "siphon break". What happens is at mid to high rpm especially when you upgrade the ecu oil will get sucked in the intake plenum through the crank case vent line. Easy cheap fix

And that is my first purchase as soon as I know there hasnt been any damage done, as soon as I saw smoke I loaded it onto the trailer, and havent touched it since. How do I know if the overflowing of the oil is my smoking problem and how do i fix this?

Pull the plenum off the throttle bodies and check for oil. Once you install the siphon break it will fix the problem

Did the motor start knocking at all? I had the same thing happen to mine and right after the white smoke came the bottom end knock. This would go hand and hand with the "no oil registering on the dip-stick" Just sayin'

I don't know how long you drove with no oil in it, but the smoking is not a real issue. The oil passed through our crank case breather and into the cylinders through the intake. Anyone with an MSD will have had this happen, (if they didn't put a siphon break first).

My only concern would be if you ran low on oil for any prolonged period of time.

When you get your Siphon Break, shop around. They are not all created equal. From experience, don't build your own. I blew my engine last summer when my siphon break filter came off. Water got in the bottom end and toasted everything.

Do your homework!

I had to add 2 quarts, but I didnt feel like I over filled it. I was told to run the machine slowly until it stopped smoking and then see what happens. Not sure how long I was running it with out oil, but it was the start of the 3rd day when I noticed, how come no low oil bulb or any thing came on?

Should I put the siphon break on prior to running it? And who has the best ones on the market?

hate to hear this, but the siphon break thing is interesting.

i've had my MSD with vforce maps on for around 20 hours of hard riding and never have i saw any smoke nor lost any oil. Wondering if the pipes + the MSD cause the issue.? I'm going to continue to watch for smoke and watch my OP, but just not sure why some machines have this issue more than others..??

The issue is actually cause from the increase in RPM. It creates pressure in the crank case which is exhausted through the air breather.

If your light didn't come on, you're probably okay.

I bought my catch can from Muzzys. It has overflow lines that drain back into the valve covers.

is the light bulb an indicator of low oil or over heating?
