pull the engine cover and with the engine running flip the switch and see if the vacuum operated actuator is moving when switched

Mud/dirt is around the vacuum operated actuator. Clean it and it should work.

its on the passenger side of the front diff. You can reach in there and move it with your hand. To see the top of the cable remove the front piece of plastic in the passenger compartment. The top of the cable will be on the passenger side behind a piece of steel. I'll post a pic in a bit.

Ok, I broke it all down yesterday and found the little silver thingy that controls 4wd. Now when click the 4wd switch I hear a pop and I rock the teryx and it stays in 2wd. If I pull the cable it switches to 4wd no problem no I need to figure out if its any one part that is not working. I took it to the shop last month to get a belt put on it and they kept a MONTH for a belt really. I am wondering if they did not plug something back up correctly. I am taking it back to them today to see if they didnt fix it right. I did notice that on the little switch thing there are three outputs but only 2 of them have hoses on it. Is this correct? Should all three have hoses coming from it?

The Engine needs to be running.

With it running flick the switch while watching the silver thing. If its working it will try to move even if the cable is stuck. move the little boots out of the way and spray some PB Blaster in both ends and try again.

Dude I am amazed by the quick responses. You guys are flipping awesome.

Could you post some picks of how your solenoid is setup?

Well guys found out what was wrong with 4wd. The guy that put it back together at the shop did not plug the vacuum line back up. Plugged it up and works great thanks for all the suggestions
