how to check/adjust belt?

hey guys, ive been going over my teryx and was wondering what is the proper way to check the belt for loosness (SP?)and also how do you adjust the thing? how loose should it be?

here is a website that has the service manual online. The pressure to measure belt deflection is 12 lbs.
