Default Turbo for the Teryx?

Ray at FPS has made a turbo for the Kawi VTwin. Currently tested on the vforce but should be able to build one for the Teryx in the future.

Brian
You may want to check out some of FPS (Dynoray1 at Fundy) other youtube videos. Like others that visit this site, he makes big hp for racers and others. The motor is not a stocker to start with either (ie pistons, cams, porting etc.). I know Fundy plays with RX1 turbos all winter in drag sleds, so he knows about turbo race motors.

I heard the motor is going to be installed in a Vforce and being tested at St. Anthonys near the end of the month. Anyone on here ride/live near there?

The HP is at the crank not the wheels. I hear thats a 30% reduction. I don't know if you can play with dynos #s or not but its a huge increase either way. I think Helix at Dalton has seen it. Maybe he will post something.

I know FPS is not a paying sponsor and Muzzy is, but Muzzy's turbo in not available for public viewing yet.

I seen it run a dyno pass of 207 hp on 15 lbs of boost, and later they went to 26 lbs or something appearently.......

I remember in early 04 hearing lots of people say they had bridges for sale,...when a couple of builders were headed to and stating they would have 100 hp (crankshaft) kawi v-twins. It is commonplace today by a couple of shops.

But hey, spook away all of the experienced kawi v-twin people if you think it is the correct thing to do,and you don't think people want to read about new developments.

207, holy crap!!!

I cannot imagine the life span being very well on that, but who knows.

And i mean 3-4000 trail/dune miles at least.

well lets see the motor builder in question built the 840 i ran in a vforce for a year which was 117 hp at the crank plus i ran a 70 shot of nitrous on that motor, now it did eventually grenade, but only because of a fuel mixture problem, and this same motor had been an 800cc motor with a 35hp shot for three years before that, over the years there were a couple of blown head gaskets but thats because the vforce heads and cylinders have thin cylinder walls, but these motors are very durable especially considering they are now at the point of quadrupling the stock HP rating. The motor builder in question and mickey dunlap of been perfecting this particular motor since 2003 when it was first introduced, so yes they are experts when it comes to this motor, but they dont build or sell bridges. But if you dont believe that go by a rhino or a RZR or a turbo RZR and watch from the back, or do like several shops are doing already, which is taking there stock motors out of there rhinos and replacing them with v twin kawie motors.

I seen on another site yesterday that FPS is not planning on a Teryx version at this time, but there are some big naturally asperated motors planned in the near future.

To show hp gains from a turbo. I saw a gain of about 250hp to 500hp on a ZX10 on the Muzzy site. Link below.

Ray would have to do a redesign to install a turbo on the teryx, but it just not economical at this time, Muzzy is building a turbo for the teryx now, which at the very most double the hp of a stock motor and cost probably 4,000 to 5,000, so for about 2,000 dollars you can get the same results, or for about 3,500, you can go 840cc, plus porting over sized valves and springs, plus 39 FCR carbs, and get four times the HP. the only nice thing about a turbo is the average guy can bolt it on and not get into the motor, I,ll say one thing the though, there are a few guys discussing the 840cc plus the turbo on a KFX 700, the 500cc and up power adder class at four stroke wars will have a V-force sitting in first place.

For the record, I will have a turbo kit . It will have an innercooler, it will be fuel injected, and it will be fast. Oh, and I will build it.
