Gibson Exhaust
Any real world #'s??? I would like to know how they can claim 7hp! This thing is so restrictive I am running richer with it installed than stock with the sparky out.

I think mine is running rich as well.I Installed the Dyno Jet kit with the jets that they list for a high flowing muffler.I think I am running pretty rich right now.I am thinking of going down a jet size to see if it helps.
Maybe we can call Gibson and see if they will provide a dyno sheet so that we can see what the real numbers are and horse power curve looks like.I like the sound of mine but I am going to be pretty upset if all it did was change the sound.

Gibson's specs show a dyno proven 7hp rear wheel gain from this exhaust. They have to have something to back this up.If not they need to be called out on this for false advertising. It also makes me want to question the power gains on their automobile systems as well.
If their 7hp gain is proven to be false I plan on posting in every forum that I can think of both auto and atv related that these are being sold under false pretense and deceptive advertising.

Try opening your airbox lid a little and see if that helps the rich mixture problem

I already called to ask some jetting questions. Although the tech was very nice he was very unsure about everything. He said it was his buddy's Teryx they used to build it & he would call him to find out if they even made any jetting changes. Needless to say, I never heard back from him.
I think they just used their automotive muffler design & made it to fit this application. The fact that I am richer with this exhaust tells me it doesn't flow as well as stock with the sparky out. I should have known the minute I took it out of the package and looked at the inlet and saw the round plate insert with the tiny tubes around the casing.
Just put your hand a foot or so behind the exhaust outlet with the Gibson, & you can hardly feel any force/air presure from the exhaust. I bet if you did the same with the muzzy or any other you would feel a strong amount of pressure. My Raptor 700 with a Alba exhaust can be felt from probally ten feet away just at idle.

I hate to think that I paid over $300 to have less power and a little better sound.Maybe one of the vendors here will get around to doing a dyno test of the Gibson to show what is really going on.

I know its not the same vehicle but the Rhino we tested with the Gibson exhaust came no where near their claims. The exhaust is very restrictive. We even drilled holes in the plate and also near the tip and saw only about .5 hp gain after that. I am not sure how accurate the numbers are. We are now carrying Muzzys. best so far for the Teryx

No we havent tested HMF yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I can say "best so far" because we have not tested the HMF. This thread asked a question and i tried to give some information.
Honestly instead of being negative to any company why dont you just post your dyno results on the HMF and give so informative info so that people can make their own decision.
If HMF is cheaper and has the same HP gains as they claim then i would be more than happy to push them also. We have not tested them.

Best so far so what have you tested? makes you sound like you have tested more than 1 exhaust. I dont work or sell hmf exhaust but when it is around 200.00 cheaper than a muzzy for the same hp why pay the money for a name! Yes im trying to help him not wast his money just for the name muzzy kinda like john deer paint.

If you have used or even handled a muzzys system you would know that it is worth it and you are not just paying for the name. Have YOU tested it against the HMF system? Muzzys pipes are the best on all the kawie quads with the v twin. (dyno proven) I was sceptical till i bought a kit. Simply amazing quality, performance, and sound! I dont work for muzzys either, just very impressed by their kit.

I should get mine tested on the dyno with and without the Gibson.I would like to have proof that their claims are false to be able to take action against them.
