Brute EFI swap...anyone yet.
Has anyone did a swap to see if the EFI will work? What is the performance difference between EFI and CARB? Most of all, COST, is it woth it?

Yes, I have done it. However, I used a stand alone ecu and modified the stock Teryx harness.
Sounds very credible now that the 2009 Teryx will have EFI. We should know after Kawasaki's Dealer show next month.

That would be great being that the brute has it. Rumor or just plain don't know.
One more thing, is there a notice of power difference with the EFI? Is it worth waiting (no elevation issues with me, sea level)

I certainly don't know but talking to a number of dealers, they seem to think it highly unlikely in early 2009 unless something has changed. I kept being told that it may be an early 2010 that would have the EFI since there were a lot of units still in inventory.
Bottom line, I don't know and I haven't heard anyone say that they DO know. What is apparent is that Kawi introduced it on the mules and has introduced all of the 2009 lineup of atv types as far as I've heard except the Teryx which makes me wonder.... but it could go either way. In any case, I think that you'll pay for the EFI so you have to decide if it's worth it to you.

someone had posted that they had seen the applications for the CARB and that the teryx was still a carbutated engine. I find it hard to believe that they would do efi for 09 as the teryx was new in 08, too many people would be POed if they did. As for power differences, I really do not believe that there would be any real gains, it might be a smoother power, and better for altitude changes but that is it.

I wouldn't be POed! I would just go and buy another one! You can totally tell the difference in the EFI. When me and some friends were up north, my buddies 700 Rhino would leave me in the dust. IT IS WELL WORTH IT TO ME!
