Might be a little tough gettin one for the teryx just yet.. Get a brute force one and weld 3/4" to the end of it.

I got mine from Todd at Hunterworks, good price and good people. Doing my belt deflection right now. We'll see how it goes. My deflection measured 1.5", which is like 38mm..!!!!!! That was pressing down with no excessive force, just pushing till all slack was out.

Mudbug - Did you order the heavy duty belt also? If I put that new belt on then a guy might need to do the shims again in 20hrs...kind of a pain.

Is the seal on the clutch cover reusable or do I need to order one beforehand?

HW is where I ordered my CDI from...hopefully that gets here this week!

Well today I used a brute force puller as it was quicker then ordering a Teryx puller. I cut down a 1/4" ratchet extension to 3/4" long. I used electrical tape and taped it to the end of the BF puller. The tape did not even rip off and the extension came back out with the puller.

CAUTION!!!! The clutch bolt is Left hand thread! The puller is right hand thead!

Also an impact wrench is required to pull off the secondary as there is no way to hold it without a tool.

I made my own spring compressor for the secondary and you need a pick to get the buttons out of the secondary. Otherwise it was pretty straight forward.

I pulled out the thin spacer and it didn't seem like much when measuring the deflection...but there is no slippage felt in any gear at take off. ****I also wiped out some grease that came from the electric brake assembly....maybe this is why most people are feeling slippage even at new? If that grease continues to give grief I might have to take that assembly apart and clean it.

Hopefully some of this helps you guys out. It took about 3hrs, but I had taken too much plastic off and I had to make the extension up.

I didnt get a new belt, just stock. I removed smaller of two shims. It definately helped but I still feel slight studder, not near what it was. Buckshot, what was your deflection before and after the adjustment??

35mm before 26mm after. THese are so rough as it is hard to get right into there and actually bend down to read under the straight edge. By the time I got the secondary back together and on I just left it at that. I should have tried taking out the wider shim...but the slipping stopped for now.

I did take out the bigger shim first, then put pulleys back in place, the belt was much tighter and my deflection measured about 19mm. I was scared if i put everthing back together and it was was to tight I would have to take all back apart....so I chanced it with the smaller shim.

If you are going to make a error on belt deflection make it toward the slack side instead of to tight. Heat builds quickly.

I was doing my breakin after installing my Fundy Std Bore kit and on my third long pull up a hill to break it in the belt said f@ck this and broke. I come back and had a clutch puller for a KFX 700 and got down to the clutch and it fit, but was a little short. So I tried a 9/32 socket taped on with electrical tape and got the clutch off. Now I have a mess. The socket is stuck in the threads for the clutch bolt (which is Left handed). I got a 1/4 inch socket extension in the end of the socket and tried turning it out, but the clutch shaft turns when I turn it. I have JB welded the extension into the socket and will try to spin it out tomorrow with an impact. Any other ideas would be appreciated. I just remembered someone mentioning this and when I ran into problems I found the thread and saw he used an extension and not an actual socket. I was planning on going to MudstockOK in Sparks this weekend, but I am screwed right now.

I would get the correct tool. my clutch was super tight coming off the engine, I had to use a bolt extension as well and it didnt work well at all, actually broke the socket and bent the 5/16 bolt I used for an extension before it finally came off. I pulled the large shim and its a little tight right now so I wont be doing much idling for a little while, my belt had nearly 2 inches of deflection when I started. If anyone needs to know the puller thread inside the clutch is 14mm 1.5 pitch, not the easiest thing to find at most places.
