20 Hour Maintenance
Well my first 20 hours are up and it's time for the first maintenance.
What things other than the standard checklist items in the manual should I have the dealer check/work on?

My Dealer screwed me on my first scheduled maint. on my Brute Force. Supposed to check belt, valves in engine, and several things. Only changed oil and filter. (I know this because I did the ol' James Bond Trick. Put Scotch tape over valve covers, oil filter and belt housing). When I questioned him and went to mgr. HE WAS PISSED !!!! I usually do my own Maint. But my dealer told me If I didn't bring in fro first he would void my warranty. Dealerships stink.

I took my Teryx for its first service today. I told them to change all oils and tighten the belt. They said they had never tightened a belt on a Teryx, and they would have to call Kawasaki. I dont know how this is gonna go. But i made them drive it before and I told them I wanted it tightend no matter what. We will see.

Those are my two biggest concerns. I'm worried about the Dealer screwing me on service because he doesn't know what to do.

Did he try to charge you for the work he never completed? If so, I'd be pissed at him.

I am scheduled for a 20 hour service. $440 is the going price at John Burr! Can they void my warranty if I do the service myself and only take it in for belt adjustment?

The 20 hour service was $125 for the Brute and when I showed the MGR the tape, he went in and chewed some MAJOR butt in the shop. He told me to leave it another day and he would personally make sure it was done right. After I explained to him that I had a 100 mile round trip, he gave me $20 back the next day when I returned to get it. A week later, he fired the shop foreman. Heard that the foreman was kinda running a racket and got caught caught with his hands in the till. Also, he told me that they had 40 years experience in their shop. When I took my V-Force in to have it rejetted ( I was working way too much O/T to mess with it), The mechanic came running out and asked me where the jets were. PHEW !!!

RedRock, I got my Teryx at Kawasaki Superstore in Goodyear. But I live in Tucson and the nearest dealer is Performance Cycle. That's where I plan to take it.

I just bought a manual and will do my own service after my 2 visits to the dealer and not getting my problem solved. The warranty is only good for six months anyway unless you guys know something I don't know.

I can do all the oil changes , but the CVT is what Im clueless about. After this first service I will do my own. Have to learn about the belt and get some belt pulling tools.

All the tools are available online, it's not so bad to access the clutch and belt once the gas tank is out. Just go slow and take pictures as you go if you are concerned. The dealers are going through the same learning curve we are, but they don't care about your unit the way you do.
