Default Cracked Motor

This question isn't directly for Teryx but Brute Force. My brother is always tearing something up and you never get the truth. About a month ago he bought a used Brute w/about 200hrs on it. Now after a few weeks the block has got cracks like a starburst on left side by your leg. He tried to give me this line that when he put it in gear it made a loud bang and thats when it happened but I ain't buying it. Little bit of oil coming out. Can anyone give me an idea as to what he may have done or why that would have happened. I have never seen or heard of this before and would love to see his face when I tell him I know what he did. Thanks

Don't know what did it, but I wouldn't ride it. If sucks air or water in through the cracks, you're BIG TIME screwed.

He will never tell the truth but my guess is that maybe if the motor was hot and then ran thru some deep cold water. I don't know but it's killing me to find out.
