I had the same problem yesterday. At first i thought it was for the ride over the weekend a the trash in the up radiator. So i cleaned it and went for a little ride and the over heated again. I called dealer and he ordered me the sensor in the radiator but i dont know if this will fix the problem. After i get off work today i'm headed home to do more test on it.

fan problems
I took my teryx out this last friday and it stopped running, no lights no crank, nothing, I looked in the fuse box and the 30 amp fuse was blown. Changed the fuse and it blew before trying to start it. On the side of the battery box is a chip. It is a pigtail with what looks like a small computer chip. It was burnt. I took that off put in a new fuse and the teryx started but over heated in just a few minutes. Any thoughts

That sounds like the air temperature sensor which controls the carb. heat element. It should not cause any overheating.
If the temp sensor fryed, you may have some other damage to the electrical system causing it to overheat.
Good luck.

We have 2 out of 3 teryx overheat while running the sand dunes at Dumont,CA. Both had the fans running when the warning light came on.Temps that day was 82. 68 degrees & less ,did not overheat. One teryx was completely stock, the other has pipe ,cdi, carb work, air box removed, checked A/F ratio at 12.8 at wfo. Mid range, mild load was 13.1 ...Think we have poss overheat problems just like the rhinos...

You are right about the air temp sensor. I looked it up on the service manual, but I didn't know what it controled. Thanks for the heads up. Like you said I don't know why it overheated. I was going up a steep hill in the sand and was not making it, that might have caused the overheating by reving it guts out. The teryx is stock and the temp outside was in the low 70's

these things are notorious for overheating, kawi will even admit it. i just installed the pwr direct replacement radiator...looks awesome, fit's perfectly. i'll follow up with how it runs when i take it out.

i got my teryx about 3 weeks ago. finally got to take it to windrock ohv in tenn. this past weekend. it did great till it ran hot and boiled the anti-freeze out.the wire to the temp sending unit was so loose it fell off . this is on left side of radiator , we squeezed the connector alittle and put it back on and had no more problems.rode about 100 miles. other than that this thing did great.

Maybe using the Antifreeze additive that some of the vendors offer. Some advertise 40 degrees cooler. (Radiator Ice?? or something like that). Has to be cheaper than a new radiator.

What i found is that the conector that hooks to the temp sensor is a round conector, it was not very tight on the conector. I tried to recrimp the conector but this didn't help, so i just soldered the conector to the sensor and have not had another problem.
