Default Sparks at idle knob Is this normal

Hi everyone

This is my first post so bare with me. I was adjusting the idle speed on my Teryx last night and I saw sparks jumping between the metal on the idle adjusting knob and the bracket that holds the knob next to the seat. I checked it out and found that it only sparks when the engine is running.(no sparks when the key is on and the engine not running) I get a reading of around .05 to 1.2 volts DC between the carburetor and ground. Is this normal?
Thanks
John

I noticed mine doing the same thing.I think that is the reason my backup light wanted to ground out also.I am going to see if my dealer will get me the wire and let me install it.I do not want to have to haul it 50 miles each way for something so simple.

This is most likely caused by a bad ground. Not sure if this is part of the recall. I have added a ground from the battery to the chassis and to the engine case. Im in the car business and have found this to be a issue with alot of cars these days causing many check engine lights to come on.
