Well I know this is my first post but I have been lurking for a while.
I read some of those posts that was linked over here from that other Kawi site. I must say even if FST's products are decent and run good I am a little turned off by the way he speaks to these guys. They seem to have valid complaints against this company. I dont know why so many people would make up these things if there wasnt some truth to this. I must say thanks for the heads up even though maybe snickers came off a little one sided in his dispute again FST.
I have been thinking of building me a big motor for my bike but I worry about buying from this guy. Is there anyone else that makes good kits for these bikes? It might be a while but when I do build it I want quality with the best customer service. In the end you can have the fastest and best stuff but if the customer service is bad then it wouldnt be worth it.

There are three other builders that I would trust and have great customer service. Fundy out of Canada, After Midnight Racing out of Oh, Interstate Motorsports out of Pa.
Mickey has good products but his attitude towards his customers sucks.

Do you have contact information for those guys. I might try and give them a call and see what I think and what they offer.
I think I have heard of Fundy somewhere but I havent heard of the other two. Anyone have any dealings with these other companies?

I'm going with After Midnight Racing. His name is Glenn he seems to be a Great guy very easy to talk to. He is building some Rockets from what I have seen over on KR.

I'm sure there will be a lot of happy 840 kit owners. Kinda hard to mess up a simple bolt on motor. It's when the dremel gets broken out that things start to deteriorate for FST
I don't care what you are into, quads, bikes, UTV's.....if you have been around them long enough you have heard the FST horror stories. I know a lot of you are obviously new to this arena, and feel comfortable ordering from him, and thats great. Hopefully he's been doing better lately, but IMHO, it's not worth the risk of having a product fail and have it blamed on me. Mickey has a Dr Jeykl and Mr Hyde personality, never know what you are gonna get when you have an issue. You can pretty much search it up on any of the forums, atvconnection, yfzcentral, anywhere you look, if you look hard enough, you'll find threads ranging from discontent to downright asshatery on FST's part.
Now I don't have a beef in this slaughterhouse, but don't jump on the guys that are trying to save you a few headaches.I knew how this would turn out as soon as I saw the OP, but it always seems to turn into an "I told ya so" after a few months or a year. If you feel comfortable with Mickey, by all means order from him. I wouldn't have any issues ordering a bolt on kit like the 840 from him, little chance of that getting messed up...... Seriously folks, do your research on a company before you jump on the bandwagon.....thats all these guys are trying to say, and they are trying to help the members here, so play nice.

Thanks Sasquatch, That is my only intention is to point out what I have seen over the years, and not trying to bash the guy, just trying to help people make sure they check out who they give their money to.

Well I think I made myself clear on what happens and why but when it's talked about on here sometimes it is missunderstood. Before I forget again, one thing that was said is I don't return calls. That is where people don't listen very good. If you have called me anytime in the last 15 years I have used a system that works for me and my customers very well. I only take call for 3 hours a day, the recording says when so you know when to call and that it is east coast times. If I am not going to be in I let you know when I will be back.At the end of the message(and this is my point) in says "this recorder does NOT take messages!" This makes it a little hard to return your calls if I don't take messages. What you have to understand is I do everything, porting, boring, engine building ect ect all in house just like Sparks or TC racing. The thing is now Sparks is luckey enough to have someone that knows enough to take orders all day, I don't and in my business I feel you will want to talk to someone who knows his products better then anyone. I get called an old man like it's a bad thing, but let me ask you would you like to talk to some old man that raced for 30 years, was good enough to have four factory rides, has work for a high performance company that has been around for ever (Powroll), has worked with the factory's to help in bring new quads to market, help run the Team Geen GNCC race team and his own teams for many years to the point he was named Ambassador of the sport by the GNCC people for having the best non factory teams in GNCC racing, or some new company with young guys just getting started. Sure they will know a few things but for you guys that are 30+ how much did you know when you were 10. I have been doing this most of my life and I am going on 50, so yes I am older.lol. Two reasons why IMO you hear more about me good and bad, 1 I do more building then all the other guys on KR's put together and I sell 10 times more. Number 2 I am on the net and that can be good and bad. When I worked for Kawasaki doing the race team my boss and I talked about me being on the net and how I handle things and he told me "the tallest tree catches the most wind".
I'm not going to keep going on, I'm sure someone out there "feels" I rip them off, I know some don't like my black and white personality but I do my best at what I do and I sleep very well with how I run my business.
One other thing Snickers is the money guy that helped get AMR in business and paid for his ad over at KR'S, take it for what it's worth. He was a big Fundy fan but didn't like him after a few things that he did also. Now he bashes him when he can.

I do not usually coment on such topics as this,as we work with many different companies out there for clutching needs, but I can say this. In 04 we got the first v-force around here . After some bone stock testing we ran one of FST's first 785 kits. It worked well as he said it would.
I have worked back and forth with mickey a few times on other projects to acheive rpm properly for his kits.He purchases parts from time to time for complete packeges he does for people..... I have never had any problems with working with him.
His biggest competitor, maybe is Fundy, who is only less than an hour from here. I know they have had a few words back and forth a few times over engines in the past, but I know Ray quite well too,and he does not run down Mickey and seems to respect him as a builder.
These companies have pioneered where the kawi v twin engine have to go to make the useable power with the cvt.
I know that usually ,i do not have a lot of time for internet stuff. I have been lately to give some testing info ,etc and find out a few things on our teryx test vehicle. From reading some of this,I'd say that sometimes maybe Mickey may speak quickly and feel a need for defense, etc. Sometimes internet stuff can be very misinterpreted as well.
I'm certainly not a customer who has been mis-done or anything,so I would ,of course ,not know all the details, but I guess that in general I'm just stating that over the past 4-5 years I've dealt with him and quite a few of his customers over the phone,..and my impression would be that he sells a fairly good volume of good quality parts. I certainly may not know everything that went on with a couple of these guys, but that is my impression.

Yes, it is always the customers that are wrong. You never do anything wrong to upset a customer, your parts and service are always perfect. I bet you don't have a fan in your bathroom either.
