Keeping up with a Rhino

I was out with a friend and he has a 2006 Rhino and I have a 2010 teryx. We started to climb a sandy ridge and he went right to the top and over! When I started up Locked in 4 wheel drive I couldn't make it to the top the tires kept diging in. My tire are new with tuns of thread and I was running about 12 PSI in all of them (I HAVE NO PROBLE CLIMBING ROCKS) and his are old and really worn.
What do I need to do to help me get up this sandy ridge?

Take some air out of the tires, I usually run about 6 lbs in my stock tires in the sand, I just bought paddles so thats what I will be runnig in the sand from now on. You should be able to climb anything the Rhino can for sure, assuming you both have stock machines.

5lbs of pressure will do the trick.

Keeping up my A$$.....you should be running away from him doing this Seriously....Lower air pressure like everyone else has said makes a huge difference.

no reason to be fully locked up, if u mean u are pulling the diff lock. 4 wheel should be plenty if not 2wd i go up everything and more in reverse then my dad can in his rhino haha.

don't they have a bit wider tires? Also the problem I've always had in loose stuff is just to much torque and the tires just spin and sink.

I own a 2006 Rhino and a 2009 Tereyx, I don't know of anything that my rhino will do that my Teryx won't do better, have you tried it in 2 wheel drive doing 9-0, on a hill climb in deep sand its all about keeping the mph up.

Having been in your position early on, I can tell you had the front dif level pulled back. It doesn't work in sand, just hopps around and trhows it back in your face. Lower the pressure to 5-7 psi and leave the lever alone. I found that that lever is only useful for rocky climbs. And if the rocks have loose gravel, again, leave the lever forward. JMO
