AZ engine braking prob

Have a 2011 Teryx 750, went riding this morning the Superstition Mountains her in AZ and noticed the engine brake was not holding the Teryx back on the down hill. Is there a adjustment that I can perform or dealer only? Also, how heavy a coating of oil on the air filter, I might have become over zealous

When driving my Rex down a steep enough hill the engine brake gives away and it just starts gaining speed. I find that on the steep hills it seems to work good when I give it a very small amount of throttle or tap the throttle every couple of seconds.

Hopefully yours isnt broke but I wouldnt have a clue, just my own experiences.

Sometimes you have to tap the throttle to engage the engine brake. You don't want your filter dripping with oil. Squeeze off the excess oil and just make sure the filter has an even coating.

The bar that engages the engine brake may need adjustment. My owners manual say it will wear. As far as clunking noise mine does same thing if braking on steep hills and wheels slide at all . But my brothers ranger does same thing.

I put higher pressure spring in the secondary clutch sheve and back shift is faster slows the teryx to a creep. I removed the engine brake altogether and works great no jerking down hills or excessive clunking.
