Just bought 08 need help

I just bought a 2008. Ran it three times and love it but the second time midway through the ride my temp light came on. I stoped let it cool down but it came on right away after start up and rode some more. Did the same thing on third ride. Ive done some research and im going to get a Muzzy cooling fan. Im not sure if fan now if working so im going to reset the switch under seat and then make sure there is no air in hoses. Is there any other parts I can buy to help problem. And Also what type of gauges do people perfer for them. I plan on adding a water temp and fuel gauge to it.

Thanks

After market bumper??? Sometimes if you throw on an after market or home made bumper the radiator will not receive proper air flow..... just take the bumper off... pres-o change-o problem fixed. Since the bike is used you might also try blowing out the radiator backwards USING LOW PRESSURE AIR ONLY ( <20psi ). sometimes crap like mud, sand, grass seed, can get caught in the radiator.

For a water temp set up get an adapter from UTV Crap for like 20 bucks and it installs in the water like to the radiator (takes 5 mins to install.... 45 mins to take the f*ckin hood off but you can install it with the hood on too just a little more difficult) then you can use a sensor and guage combo just like in a car. OR the Cheaper version is to get the gauge that will install directly in the the radiator hose adapter you just have to get off and look under the hood to see it... and if your in the mud or snow that can be difficult.

Hope this helps.

Sounds like your on the right track. Check to make sure all your hose clamps are tight, that's a common problem. Also check your oil and clean your air filter every ride. Common problem, they suck oil into the plenum and also poor design on the air box, they suck dirt. Many different options out there to fix these problems. There is alot of good info on this site.
I added autometer pro comp marine gauges. Think you can get the kits with everything you need from blackrhinoperformance and utv crap

Make sure and clean the radiator fins. I have seen a lot of guys I ride with have this problem. You need to wash it out with a hose each time you use it.

Wash the radiator fins?? I've never ever done that with any of my rides....I've buried quads in mud, ocean, you name it and I've never had to go to that extreme, is that common? Are the fins not spaced out enough or what?

I always spray mine out with the hose when i wash the bike. It dosent get clogged but mud n sh*t does come outta there sometimes.
