No problem.

Does anyone offer an odometer that is fairly easy to install? It seems that when I was looking at all the different brands, some of them offered one. I don't want to be doing a whole lot of extra maintenance when I could be riding. It gets expensive!

Trail Tech Vapor has speedo, odo, tachometer, and water temp. They are $119.95. To mount it you can but Trail Tech's billet bracket or you can get HRT Motorsports' much lower cost bracket. HRT stocks the dash and the lower cost mount. HRT Motorsports 760-788-0019

Been looking online, seems that some hour meters run off impulses, and some run off just battery, The analogs have quarts movement, and go for like $31-35. (Some higher) Most that I am looking at are analog but there are digital... So I was thinking of getting the analog one, and ax'n the dig... but there are many types that can work. I was looking for one that would be the exact fit. One claims +- 1 min per 24 hrs... I figure that would't be so bad!
What do ya think?

I think I just disconnected my battery and will keep it that way until I figure out how to get an odometer in mine and then will keep an eye on the mileage. It would be cool to see the speed anyway.

Did you see my post above? Disconnecting the battery shouldn't have any effect on the hour meter. It is powered by the stator, which outputs AC voltage. You would have to disconnect one of the two wires on the back of the hourmeter itself to stop it from operating.

Leaving the key on won't run the hour meter. Kawasaki wouldn't be that silly to build it that way. See above info regarding its operation.

Thanks, s2k1. As soon as I get it out of the toyhauler, I'll be snipping the hour meter wire and replacing it with an Odometer/speedometer. Glad you pointed that out.

My hour meter only runs when the teryx is running. I watched it. Lol, I have that kind of time! If you notice the hour glass blinks when it is running and doesnt when just the key is on.
Just installed a new hour meter in mine for my original problem. So far so good. I only have half an hour though...

My hour meter does the same thing as far as blinking only when the engine is on. I still think the meter is off, way off. I'll be curious to see if your new meter is right on or if it still runs fast/

Last night we drove around till the HM flipped to 41 hours then we started a stop watch and drove until the HM flipped to 42 hours, the stop watch read 29 minutes. Drove until the HM flipped to 42 hours, the stop watch read 59 minutes. Seems pretty definitive to me.

The Brute Force hour meter is built into the cluster.I am not sure why they did not include one in the Teryx cluster.

Probably because those of us who bought the base model didn't even get a cluster (instruments that is).

Are people leaving the key on when the motor is not running? I think the clock continues to count time until the key is turned off. It works that way on my Brute Force. Not sure if they fixed it later, as I has one of the first 750s in 2005.
