Fuel Pump 49040-0041

2009 Teryx 750 LE 49040-0041 fuel pump.
Has anyone had any luck finding a fuel pump only, instead of buying the $500 assembly?
I swear I'll park it and ride my Yamaha ATV before I pay $500 for a plastic tower with a $50 fuel pump in it!

Retrofit it with an efi pump of some type, most of those pumps come from anothe oem other than kawasaki, google universal efi pump and see what you find.

Yeah I have been looking at them, but a lot of variables since it has to be the correct psi and has to fit in the oem plastic tower. I am going to try searching the numbers stamped on the pump itself and see what I can find.

typically the regulator governs the pressure, most efi pumps can deliver the right pressure.

That is an external pump v8jeep86. The 49040-0041 is a "in tank" pump.

It is a Mitsubishi brand pump UC-T35 C9113 apparently it is captive to Kawasaki and is not used on any other application. Looking through the web at EFI in tank pumps, I must say some of the pumps alone are $400 so it may be the case that if it was avail alone it may be very expensive. It is just a shame that it only last 1 year and 4 months in the Teryx.

I have read that the sock on these is not very good and that if I buy a new assembly I should go to the parts house and get an automotive sock filter to fit.

There is a good chance the pump is not bad there is a screen between the fuel pump and the regulator separate them and with a bent nail punch out the screen reassemble and replace filter and if wanted install a in line filter and make sure it is metal not plastic. should work good luck.
