Little advice please
Im considering buying a Teryx that has a little damage. The front passenger a-arm took a little hit (slid into a tree) and pushed in the frame where the mount it is welded on. Its not really noticable maybe a few millimeters pushed in. The front end was aligned by the dealer and it runs straight, no pulling side to side or anything funny. Should I be worried? I talked to one of my buddies who is a Kawasaki mechanic he took a look and said not to worry about it, what do you guys think?

Well I would have to say that if the arm is bent, no worries, easy to replace and not expensive, if the tabs are bent again not a big deal they can fixed, cut off rewelded, strenghted what ever, if the frame is actually bent then it becomes some concern.
If the price is right why not go for it, but with damage it would have to be several thousand dollars off the normal price.

Where the tab is welded to the frame is where it is slightly pushed it. Unit has 35hrs on it and the plastic has some scuffs but overall in good shape. Its around 2k cheaper than buying new (retail) but it does have some extras. Full exhaust, jet kit, CDI, clutch sheave, air box mod and filter.

Just doesn't seem quite cheap enough... you should be able to easily buy a new one for well 1k below retail easily if not better.
Maybe $1500 worth of performance stuff, that is probably worth half after it's used.
That puts the value at about 1500-2k under what you could purchase a new one for and considers the value of the options. Just seems that a stock one loses over 1k soon as you drive it off. It's tempting, but it's not a steal and doesn't seem to give you much credit considering the damage albeit somewhat minimal. If it's a base model, I would sort of be looking for the $7k range as a good deal & maybe $7500 or so as fair. Maybe that's about where you are at. Just my 2 cents. 8500-8750 for new is very possible. If you value all of the mods, then maybe pay a little more.

This guy is a friend of mine so maybe the price will go down over some beers One bonus is I still get the 6 months warranty through Kawasaki. Its the dealership owners demo so it hasnt been registered sold through Kawasaki.

Know of a dealer who is very cheap on new Teryx. It's called extreme toy store in St. Louis, Missouri. Bought a green one for 7900.
Used should be 2000 less than new---minium unless they through in an extended warranty from a third party you trust.

Are you saying 2k off full retail or 2k off 7900. I would love to buy it for $5900 but I dont see it happening. There was just an add for a stock 08 Teryx on here with the front axle snapped off and they were asking $6500.

I'm not doubting the 7900, but we're not getting to that point around Texas, or LA. The cheapest I've seen or heard was about 8700 out the door plus any tax if applicable.
So I would reference off something like that... you might be able to buy one for a little less, but most everything I've seen advertised seems to creep up to about 8500-8900 once you add in the fees (not inlcuding applicable tax). Of course, I'm referencing the base model.
FYI, if you look at the hold backs and incentives, it's possible for a dealer to sell for 7900 out the door, but unlikely... it's very very close to being a zero gain deal. If I recall my research with a friend who sold them, unless the hold back has gone up from Kawi, the breakeven would be somewhere around 7600 or so and that includes no cost of money, etc.. he litterally would more than likely be losing money.
Does the 7900 from Missouri include freight/assembly & fees... ie out the door less tax? Just trying to help the guy compare apples to apples.
I think that the main thing is do you want the performance stuff. It'll cost you a good bit of money and time to buy them. If they don't mean much to you, then the deal is a little weak. I would just pay the 1500 or so and get a brand new one.

I kinda like the idea of the performace stuff and it is all stuff I would end up buying as I plan to race it. For what is worth I cant buy one for 7900 and one of my best friends owns the dealership.

If you want the perf stuff and you are good with your friend, I wouldn't bother me. That's just me...
I couldn't buy one from the dealer that we use for anywhere near that... a base model cost us around 8800.
Go buy it and enjoy it. Maybe talk your friend out of a few things at cost to go along with that racing!
