Does anyone load on a deck?

I just picked up a 2009 Teryx, I have a trailer to pull it when we go on day trips but I want to be able to haul it when we go camping. We have a bumper pull travel trailer and cannot put the teryx in the box of our truck at it has 27" mud lites with 1" spacer making it too wide.

Just wondering if anyone uses a type of box deck to haul their Teryx and pictures of it.

Thanks.

I run offset wheels sits 65" wide and I am building a deck for mine. it will basiclly be ramps bolted to rails that sit on the bottom of the box. not done yet and no pics yet just a pile of steel. I know people who run sled deck but they are not cheap for just the summer.

Are you talking about a deck on top of the trucks bed? Like a tonneau cover. Diamondback makes them. I was looking at getting one but not to put the Teryx on.

We have a deck that gets anchored down in the bed of the truck with turnbuckles and goes over the bed rails. It has 2 8ft ramps and a new winch. We bought it from a guy and never used it I wil see if I can get a couple pics. Since your so far away maybe someone can build one for you

I will mostly likely end up building it myself just was looking for ideas. I am really regretting selling my sled deck last year. I prefer to haul my sled on my trailer and didn't have the teryx at that time!

The age old problem too many toys not enough ways to haul them.

guy we ride with made a set of ramps to haul is rzr 900 on the back of his flat bed truck. they went from about the height of the bottom of the rear window and angled down to flat on the bed at the rear.. it worked on his truck dunno why it wouldnt work in a regular truck bed.

Build a deck on top of your bed rails taht's strong enough to hold it while its on top and strong enough it doesnt bend anything when ramping on to it. Or just pull the trailer behind the trailer?!?!

The second option is illegal in most states unless your licensed to pull tandem trailers. And loading it directly on top of the bed would make the truck extremely top heavy IMHO

In Arizona you can put a trailer behind a fifth wheel but. Not behind a bumper pull and there is an over all length limit

Well we pull 2 trailers here in Texas. I don't even know if it's legal or not but have never gotten in trouble for it. As long as you've got lights and tags you're good, I guess!

I'm from Canada and its definitly illegal in my province to pull two trailers. As for the top heavyness, I have hauled two sleds on a sled deck on my truck for many years and yes you can feel the weight and wouldn't want to go flying around courners but its not to bad.

Thanks everyone!

My home made deck before I bought my toy hauler. barely knew they where on there. Load sits on flore of bed not bed rails. I had bars that sat in the steak pockets just to stabalize it but they did not cary any load.

Wrench

I have a buddy with a truck and he has the same problem. He put an expensive lift kit on his that increased the overall width like 5 to 6 inches so now it won't fit in his truck bed. I have a flat bed dump trailer for mine but I opted for the 2" shock extention lift that was waaay cheaper and didn't widen my machine to speak of so I had no problems there. I told him I would plan to build him a deck INSIDE but flush with the bed rails so it can simply pull out when not in use. I'm going to build it all entirely out of treated wood and put it together with bolts and screws so it will be very inexpensive but have a strong and durable subframe that reaches to the base of the bed and anchored with ratchet straps to hold the load with ease. I plan to add flush mount D-ring mounts to all 4 corners on top of the deck to tie the machine down tight and brush cover the outside top of it all with Linex coating (like Rhino lining) for appearance.
