the dealer tells me its 29hp by dyno at the ground, despite me telling them its impossible for a trail 4 seater to just be 29 hp, even the manager said it was and showed me the dyno. before i buy one, this cant be correct, right??

it works great i think the hp numbers are higher than that but you would be surprised how well they work dont let hp numbers keep you from a purchase.with a reprogram they'll keep up with a rzr800,love mine i think in stock form its just as fast as my moded t2

Whom ever ran the dyno may not know how to run this type of clutch setup properly or the dyno itself reads very low. Stock the T4 should see in the low 40s.

it is not the hp that counts but the torque it makes

The 2 seat puts out around 46hp according to my off road mag. The mag says the 4 seat has around 12% more so somewhere around 51-52hp. Minus around 20% for drive train and your look at 41-42 hp at the rear wheels. Thats a rough guess. Like Peter said the torque is a big factor in moving one esp. if it's heavier and I haven't heard anyone complain about the lack of power on the 4 seat Teryx.

The T4 feels like it has double the power of the T2 because of the clutching. For a heavier machine you sure can't feel it. With two adults, two kids, spare tire and probably an addition 200+ lbs with tools coolers and everything else it sure got to the speed limiter much quicker than I ever expected. At first I thought there was a problem but once I saw how fast I was going I realized it was just the limiter. It rode so smooth that the speed wasn't noticable.

You seem overly concerned with numbers instead of actual performance. drive one and I'm sure you will be surprised. the CARB rating for 2012 was 39 kw.....or 52.2hp....the 2013 CARB rating is 40kw...or 53.6hp.

The engine produces same HP as RZR4 but more torque so it moves heavier load and weight quicker, that's why it beats the RZR 800 is a drag race.

Those higer #s you guys are posting are crank hp not rwh, I seen Todd at Huterworks showed dyno #s on an 2009 100 percent stock only dynoed 29-31 rwh, but its like the guys said as long as the performance suits you the #s are misleading.

My ranger 800XP has 55 hp and weighs 400lbs less than my T4. With an additonal 130lbs person in the T4, the T4 still smokes it in a drag race.

I love my new T4, but I would like to see someone that has done the 880 bb kit in one and report on it.
