What kinda riding will you be doing? You going to leave it stock, or go all out, big bore kit, long travel?

I wouldn't even consider the rhino, they are just too slow, but they are narrower than the teryx, by 5" I think. If you are going to be doing alot of trail riding on narrow trails and not interested in going fast the rhino might be a better choice. They have a topspeed of about 41 stock. It use to be there were a lot more aftermarket parts for the rhino but not the case any more.

If you wanna save some money and not going to do alot of altitude changes you should be able to pick up a 2008 teryx at a good price.

The 2009 is fuel injected, has a fuel gauge and you can get rebound and compression adjustable shocks on the sport and monster editions.

So depends on what you want to do and your budget....

Hope that helps some.

Jim

Had a rhino that i drove from stock then built to the hilt long travel ect. Now i have a teryx. The rhino does not even come close the the teryx on any level IMO.

The only belt problem I had was my fault, left the park brake on, on a rock climb after I got out to see where I was at.

I have had plenty of Rhinos and Artric Cats. By far I love the Teryx over all of them. Only issue I have with the Teryx is that the steering for high speed stuff has way too much front end push to it. XMF is working on that right now though so I hope to have that fixed for me soon. I am going to keep this one for awhile I like it so much. Wouldn't even think about a rhino again. Would not buy a single cyl. side by side ever again.

Go find a teryx and ride it and you will be sold. I was sold on the rhinos until I rode the teryx. That being said, my rhino buddies go everywhere I go so they are great bikes too, but the Teryx has more power and better ride. Both are great machines!

i would go with a 09 teryx. i have driven a 660 rhino, 700 rhino and the 08 teryx, they are all great rigs but the rhino does not compare with the teryx. even trail riding the teryx is much more stable than a rhino when you get into off camber positions. my friends rhino will get on 3 wheels and i will stay planted and hardly lean when i go through the same hole. i like the 09 teryx over the 08 because i can go from the dunes to mountains and i don't have to mess with the jets. hpoe that helps ya

Tough to start sometimes in cold. Nothing to worry about though. My teryx always started even when it was in single digits. Make sure carb heater recall is done.

They are a little cold blooded. Mine started alot easier cold after I put dynatek coils and iridium plugs. It was never into the single digits tho, I am a desert dweller. If it hits 30's its friggin cold.......
