Noisy Teryx

Is there anything I can do to quiet down my Teryx? Maybe add some insulation or something.

Any ideas will be appreciated

You can add self stick sound deadening material under all the plastic. You can buy it on the internet. It helps a little, but not a lot. Also, the LE roof and windshield makes it louder in the cab section. I agree with you....It is a very noisy machine. I've resigned to wearing ear plugs!

Was happy (or at least relieved) to see someone else has issue with the noise. As long as it is normal, I'm OK with it, but it does seem rather rough sounding under normal driving conditions. Although, no more so that the Rhinos I test drove before ordering the Teryx. Could be because I also ride a Grizzly 550, which is quite smooth in comparison.

"Cabelas" sells an add-on muffler called "the Stealth" (probably cheaper on E-Bay). It supposed to dramatically quiet the exhaust noise. Problem is, I'm not sure its the exhaust thats making the noise. I think it may be all those gears churning. Someone said the gears are straight cut (for strength) instead of angled and thats what is making the all the noise. If you try the "Stealth" muffler, let us know how it is. I would love to quiet this baby down some.

Removing the roof seems to take a bunch of the noise away.

I've been listening more when I'm riding the Teryx. Most of the "noise" I am hearing seems to be from the roof, seat belts rattleing, and others. Although the engine is rather loud, I've just decided to live with it.

I had my side panels, console, and driveshaft cover, all done in armor thane. It's like rhino line but much more shine and doesn't fade like rhino line. I think it looks great. It did quiet down alittle. I still have to get the bed done. I have the 48" kit from sandjunkie and have not gotten everything like I want yet so..... But anyways theres my two cents. I'm in the middle of modifying my bed to accept rockford fosgate 8" marine speakers in the bedsides! It aint for everyone but it make me giggle.
