Here are a few of the quotes throughout this thread about the weather stripping...

Phelpz also put a picture of it on the first page, check it out.

You will never regret doing this mod. I finally was able to take mine riding since doing this mod, had to get under the hood to check something on the trail, so easy now.

early in this post it is detailed instructions and pictures, I did mine from this post. Cutting the hood was the scariest but it turned out well. I still cant believe someone didnt think of this a few years ago.

Thanks Jaminjer. I have looked at the pictures etc. My biggest question is do you cut the hood when its on the Teryx or take it off and then cut it.

It probably depends on what you use to cut it. I used a dremel with a cutting wheel and did most of it while it was sitting loose on the rex. I took it off to do the final areas around the holes for the cage. I taped off my line with blue tape and followed it with the cutting wheel. The plastic will melt along the line but can be cleaned up with a file or sand paper.

I took mine off and then cut it with a jib saw. I guess you use what you have and are familiar with using.

I would have liked to have more detailed instruction's also, however if you print Phelps instruction's off and follow it... You will not be mislead!

I unfortunately cut my hood before I started on the hinges, which I would not suggest doing again!! It didn't screw anything up, I just had alignment issues with my plastic's.. (Luckily it was more and not less) so I took the long way instead of following the instructions.

Definately build your hinges first, then cut the hood... Should be a walk in the park if you have any kind of fab skills. I unfortunately do not with metals, and learned A LOT when I did mine.

Heck with instructions. I think that PhelpsAZ might not be to far from my vicinity. Hey man, come on over! I'll be sure to stock the beer fridge. I don't have any of those fancy thinking chairs in my shop like you have in your picture though so you might need to bring your own. I've been thinking about stopping by Space Age Auto this weekend and picking up the rubber trim.

Wow, that was easy. Might need to hook up some time so I can see yours in person and check it out. Just not sure when since I'll be out of town this weekend. I'll get back to you after I've gotten my rubber trim. How long do you think this job takes?

It should only take a day. At least get it mocked up in one day and you could paint the hinge the next day.
