Rad relocation.

My 2011 teryx keeps overheating. I'm in northern alberta canada and we do a lot of deep mud and the rad keeps getting full. I've seen guys with rad relocated to the roll cage behind the seats. I think this might be the best place to avoid all the overheating issues I have.

I think catvos makes a kit to move it on the hood.

I live in Manitoba and I ride in a lot of mud too. I have this happen too, but only once. I have an aluminum mesh in front of the rad. It keeps the sticks and crap form puncturing the rad, but I think it keeps some of the mud out too. That is unless it's really pussy goopy mud.

I'm also in Northern Alberta (Fox Creek) and this past saturday, my rad was caked in mud, I pulled over as soon as I saw my temp light flash and spent 45 minutes cleaning the damn thing. Didn't end up making a difference, I probably blew the head gasket on my piece of shit Teryx.

Actually, I'll be going into GP for warranty service this saturday....

I hve the same issue. I did go ahead and added a radiator additive made by highlifter. It seems to help even when you get mud incthe radiator. I caked mine last time we rode and the light didn't come on i think it helped.

Happens to me every time we ride. I've had a few plans to do after I just got done rebuilding my motor(blew some rings from running hot from low oil and water) and the radiator was gonig to be one of them. Only thing is, is I don't want it on my hood. I think it looks dumb. I'll be finding a way to mount it on the cage the correct way and posibly running a little larger rad.

I looked at catvos for the relocate on the hood. I am worried about possibly blowing a hose with it being by my head. I like the way catvos does theirs it looks clean. And it wasn't priced too bad

My 2012 isn't having any problems, I believe they built a bigger rad and fan for the new ones, maybe you can just switch out rads and fans for a new one thats being put on the 2012s. Not sure what the cost would be.

I like the idea of it on the rear of the roll cage behind the seats and going with a big/better rad. I just need to know if this is an easy job to do myself? Does anyone have any pictures of this relocation also would the impeller upgrade also benefit? If I do this mod before I get pics I'll do a right up for all us northern Alberta boys playing in the skag and mud. I need help on this and I'm sure lots of other guys do as well. Thanks for everyone's input as well I've had a lot of good ideas from this forum.

Has anyone ever heard of putting a second rad in line? I called my local mechanic and he suggested it. Seems like it would work but I'm unsure of the water pump being able to supply the both efficiently. Thoughts please.
