popping from the air box is usually from a very lean condition...becareful i have heard of the backfire through the air box enough to melt the slides and diaphrams in the carbs...

Did you do any mods?

I just had this same problem when I put the exhaust , k&n air cleaner and juice box on my 2009 teryx I left the lid off the box and could not get enough fuel into it so it was on the richest setting and it still would pop alittle.
I put the lid back on the airbox and my problem is gone!

seen it alot. its lean. what causes it most of the time is a dirty pilot jet. take the carbs apart and clean real good problem gone.

Also make sure the nuts on the exhaust flanges are tight.

I bought mine used and the guy that sold it to me said that it would do that with the air box lid off. I haven't tried it but that's what he told me.

Can't be normal even before warm up. Mine doesn't do it. yamadog, I don't know what a juicebox is but with just exhaust, k&n filter and airbox lid off an add on fueler (if that what it is) should be able to add enough fuel. If not, get a MSD FI for your '09.
