Speaker pods??

Anybody ever mounted speaker pods like these to the front of the bed?? I bought a set and they fit perfect on the face of the bed on each side of the intake vent. I'm gonna get two more and put the inside the bed. Gonna have to get creative and put a plywood ring inside of it for mounting and to make it more rigid. Probrably gonna paint it to. I'm not to sure if i could put vinyl on it and make it look right.

I think most peeps are running the ssv pods up front and some are running the ssv pods in the bed. I prefer the sweet noise of my engine!!!

Me like engine too. But from time to time I like to listen to some tunes and drink a coolie pop with my sexy wife.

Oh yeah I'm just looking for something different. That's the fun about customizing your ride. It's about being different. I think I'm going to drink another coolie pop!

Here are some pictures of the semi completed project. When my cage comes in it will recieve 2 more 6.5's I'll put them in the bed somewhere. The whole project took a little longer than I expected but turned out pretty nice. Mounting the amp was tough my big hand didn't make things easier. My axial mount is nice and I bought a line controller which you see next to the ipod. I mounted the speaker pods to plywood and then put bed liner on it and mounted it to bed.

They look good, how do they sound? I mounted two 6X9's up under my roof between the roll bars, had to box in the ends to get a good sound.. looking to mount two more. I was thinking of mounting two round speakers in the bottom of my dash, facing down, not sure if the flimsy plastic of the dash will hold em..What did you make yours out of??

bought them off ebay for $25 i think pretty close to that. They were a little weak around the base so I traced them onto plywood, cut it out, trimmed the edges, and then the base was solid. I mounted them to a piece of plywood via 3" screws thru the speaker mount holes and it is solid. To finish it off I sprayed it with bed liner. To the average person it looks like it came from the factory. It is loud as hell, wished it had more base so when my cage comes in, if ever, i will find a way to incorporate 2 6x9's or add a console with a sub. I have a four channel sub and two free channels to work with so as usual the build never ends.
