here is a link to where i got mine. WARNING IF YOU BUY ONE OF THESE THE REMOTE START WILL NEED A ZENER DIODE TO MAKE IT WORK. the way kawasaki does there keyswitch the remote start will not work unless you install a zener diode.

Thanks, I have the drawing supplied by ATVALARMS.com but it didn't include the voltage for the diode. I tried a 12v diode and that didn't work. The starter will crank but the engine won't run from the remote function. The engine will start and run with the key if the alarm is not armed and it will not run if the alarm is armed (alarm sounds, starter cranks but engine won't run). One thing I don't like is the alarm chirps three times every time I turn off the key. This may be from the 12v. diode. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks, my fax number is 949-460-5616

they are called atv alarm. they are made by viper for atvalarm.com
they come with two remotes and they have remote start too. they are water proof if you drive in deep water. my teryx is real cold hearted so i will hit the remote start from inside the house and let it warm up. |

Hey Banshee,
Thanks for your help. I'm having trouble finding a 7v. diode. Do you think a 5.2v diode would work? For that matter, do you think the 12v is the reason it won't start from the remote or maybe a bad diode? On the other issue, where are you talking about putting a switch, in the horn wires? I'd hate to forget to switch the horn back on when I want it protected. Thanks again, Dan |

Teryx Alarm For Dummies
Just finished the ATVALARMS.com installation on my 08 LE. Banshee is right "this thing is the shit". Remote start, lights flash, loud alarm, ignition disable, panic switch and very affordable. The install is easy. Banshee helped me out with a small detail missing in the instructions. I'm sending notes to atvalarms.com to include with their instructions to make it idiot proof. I installed mine behind the dash by taking the hood off. All the wire tie-in points are accessible there. The four wires that the ignition switch plugs into, a ground wire, tie into the head and tail lights and plug in the alarm siren and LED light and mount it all up. It's actually much easier that it sounds. I took pictures and have the factory shop manual if anyone needs help. The toughest thing I had to do was find the correct "zener diode", the instructions didn't call out what voltage or wattage zener diode is needed to make it work. Banshee was able to help me with those spec's and I was able to locate a 6.8 volt 5 watt that worked perfectly. I would recommend soldering the diode onto some wire and using heat shrink over the diode. For the other connections I used heat shrink/crimp connectors and pinch-on wire splices. Only one wire actually gets cut during installation the rest are piggy-backed onto the other wires.
Thanks again to Banshee for his help. |

I am a dealer for atvalarm and I did send them what I found to make the remote start to work on the teryx. Remember the teryx is the only one that needs a zener diode. The rzr and rhino do not use this diode. I called atvalarm and told them I got the remote start to work and sent them a drawing . If you order one make you tell them its for a teryx. I sent them that drawing many months ago so might want to remind them about the zener diode.
