New Teryx4

Well, Im not exactly new to the site, been posting stuff in SDR Motorsports vendor section for a while, but now Ive got a new Teryx4, so Ill be posting and reading a lot more in the general section, so I figured I better introduce my self and my ride here first.

On Friday, i finally sold my 4 seat rhino, and immediately gave Art at Berts Mega Mall a call. Even though he was already at the Dunes for the weekend, he took care of me on a moments notice, and had a nice blue EPS Teryx4 sitting ready for me the next morning ready for pickup.

They had me in and out in no time, and luckily it even fit on my little 10' trailer. I gotta thank Art for hooking me up, and taking the time out of his duning to make sure I got taken care of. And of course I have to thank Kennedy and the rest of guys at Berts for the awesome service!

NOW, its already dropped of at SDR Motorsports for some measuring and planning, then a week at the river for some stock testing and break it, then back to SDR for a little work, starting with a proper cage and belts, bumper, Rigid lights and one of the first long travel kits off HCRs assembly line! Cant wait!!

chad59 and honduranteryx like this.

For sure. This will be a full shop buildup, so as soon as we start tearing into it, we will start a thread in our vendor section.

This is my first Teryx, so Im very excited to test it out next week, and compare it to the rhinos Ive owned over the years. So far, Im very impressed with the build quality, and especially the interior room it offers. Im 6'3 and easily fit in the back seat. Never could fold myself into a RZR4 backseat... The cage is also wider than the T2, so it seems very big inside.

Oh, and if you haven't been able to check one of these out in person, it is in the show room all this week at SDR Motorsports in Riveside, if you want to stop by and check it out and sit in it.

I really like the throttle responce on the T4. You'll notice way more torque from the V-Twin over the Rhino. Keep us posted on the upades on your build!

A proper cage is one that is built out of thicker, stonger material, with more bracing, which will probably hold up in a real crash.

Currently the manufactures use ROPS (roll over protection standards) which was taken from the farm/heavy equipment industries. They are only made strong enough to survive a slow speed sideways tip over and thats about it. Just do a few google searches for sidebysides that have endo'd

Yeah, what he said! I would never trust the stock cage of any UTV in a real crash.

Plus, if done right, it can really make a homely UTV look really good. Example stock RZR4 and a RZR4 with SDR cage and doors.

Thanks BBRex. I can't wait either. Brand new models are always so exciting to design new parts for. This one is definitely going to be a challenge, with the short rear bed section, the down tubes end up at too harsh of an angle. But I have confidence in Tim, every cage he has done since I started buying from him 5 years ago has been spot on!

We did some quick measurements yesterday, and it looks like well be able to drop the front of the cage 1" and the rear at least 3" and still have plenty of room front and back for my 6'3 frame. That should help in the looks department right there.

Is there any way to ship a cage like this?? I see plenty of posts of shops doing this kind of work out west but none here in PA or any where near that I am aware of. Can these things be shipped? And if not is anyone aware of a Mid Atlantic area shop that does cage work (Good quality!!) Thanks!

Yes, we ship cages like this often. Usually runs between $100-300 depending on your location. Feel free to give the shop a call and let them know what kind of cage your looking for, and they will be happy to get you a freight quote.

Heres a cage all palletized and wrapped up ready for pickup!

Put the first 10 miles on the Odo today. So far I am really liking it. There is significantly more torque than the old rhino, and the ride is very smooth, and the seats pretty good for stock. I'm liking it! Going to put some more miles on it tomorrow.New Teryx4-imageuploadedbytapatalk1325207312.637999.jpg
