Hello fellow Teryx-ers!

I figured it was time to join this forum. Back in 2009, I bought a 2009 Teryx Sport and have added numerous upgrades (Elka shocks, Muzzy's exhaust, Simpson 5-point harnesses, roof, 3/4 tilting windshield, Warn winch, radiator kit, etc.). I LOVE my Teryx, but the 2009 model has a few drawbacks versus the later models - mainly but not exclusively the fact that the hood doesn't open. I'm thinking about an upgrade and I'd like it to be to another Teryx, not only because Teryx's are great, sturdy machines but because I can transfer all my upgrades. I tested out the new Teryx 4 and it was awesome, but I don't very often have the occasion to tote more than one passenger, and I actually use the bigger tilting bed on the 2-seater for work around my farm (Shenandoah Valley of Virginia). DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY CLUE AS TO IF OR WHEN KAWASAKI MIGHT COME OUT WITH A NEW 2-SEATER THAT INCORPORATES ALL THE UPGRADES THEY PUT ON THE 4-SEATER? Many thanks for letting me post in your sandbox!!

Did you ever sell those sport shocks?

No, I still have them. If I buy a new Teryx I'll probably keep my 2009 as well, put the Elkas on the new one, and put the sport shocks back on the old one.

2013 models, way it sounds will be the big change, witch we should hear rumors in the next several months,i dont see kawi going to crazy with the 2013 i think it will get a new motor hopefully new seats new electrical upgrades like the t4 maybe the same frame as the t2 with better travel, they seem to be listening to people about what they dont like, and the 2 seater could be an 800 or 850 because the engine cases are a heavier design.time will tell they would sell better with a bigger motor for sure

Kawasaki listens and will produce and new 2 seater. They do have to run a business though and that means to be profitable they plan their production and need to produce a set number of units. I'm sure once they have filled that quota there will be the release of some new models.

Many thanks for the feedback and information hunter541 and FUELATV. I've been sorely tempted to buy an XP 900, but I think Kawasaki quality is far superior to Polaris, Teryx's obviously have more utility than RZR's, plus (as stated above) I've put a lot of dough into my 2009 upgrades and sure would like to transfer many of them to my new ride. Hope they announce it soon!

I've "heard", from a pretty reliable source, that there will be a new model this year. We'll have to wait and see...

Most of your upgrades from your 2009 will not work with the new Model Teryx other than universal bolt on items like mirrors or harnesses

Well that's not good news, but manageable. The most expensive items are the Elka shocks, the Muzzy's exhaust, and the winch. I figure the winch ought to transfer okay (?) and Elka told me they could modify my shocks to fit the 4T with no problem, so I'm guessing mods could be made for the Elkas to fit on the (merely anticipated, at this point) new 2T. I wasn't planning on transferring the Muzzy's exhaust.

If you think I'm wrong about the winch and the Elkas don't hesistate to say so -- I can take it I suppose if the (anticipated) new 2T has significantly more travel, the Elkas could be a problem, but it's a problem I wouldn't really mind having. More travel would be fine by me.

The winch will transfer, the pattern should be the same but if not it would be just a matter of getting the correct mounting plate or modifying yours

The front shocks should swap with no problems but the rears are different. Elka would definately be able to change components to make them work but it may end up being more expensive since it would need almost all new components.......unless they have invented a shock stretcher!!

Exhaust would not fit without being heavily modified and you would be much better off just purhcasing a new system.

The new T4 is a completely different machine that the previous T2 and I would expect Kawie to use the same components on any new models as well.

Thanks for the reply. I'll just have to see what Kawasaki brings to market and transfer what I can. If they actually build a 2T that's anything like the
4T I'll be a happy camper even if nothing transfers.
