I'm from Seattle, my favorite place in Oregon is Coos Bay but I'm bias due to friends and family in the area. Either way you should have a lot of fun out there. Make sure you mind the noise of your Teryx. They are truly a pain in the ass about noise out there.

I have not been in years but you should ask what camp ground you can ride out to the dunes from. Some will not let you ride in or through them. We always stayed at Siltcoose just south of Florence. But I don't know if you can ride out of the camp. Then we would load up one night and go down to Coosbay for the day. What ever you do I don't think you can go wrong. I met my wife 22years ago riding in Florence. Have a damn good time.

My personal favorite riding are is down at Coos Bay. Lots of riding area and a lot of different riding terrain. I will say if you have not reserved a camping spot with dune access. You will have a hard time getting one now. So that might dictate on where you will end up. Have a great trip. I will be on the Oregon Coast in August for 12 days. Half the time in Coos Bay and the other half in Florence.

I will be heading up there on the 25th we stay at Hauser due to the fact that you can ride from horsefall (right next to Coos Bay) all the way through hause to spinreel. Do a search for campsites on reserve usa and you can see the layout. the lower riding area (Haser Horsefall and Spinreel) have a mix of riding some taller dunes and alot of trails that wind through the trees. Winchester bay is a smaller riding area but the dunes are a lot taller. Dunefest starts at Winchester on the 30th so it might start to get crowded there. I have never ridden up any further north but I did drive up to the dunes north of Winchester and it was all trails and flat dunes. also you can ride on a very long strech of beach at the lower (Hauser) riding area. Hope this helps.

Thumbs up

depends on which spot. the website is generally good about letting you know. If it says four wheel drive required to access then you will be towing on the sand. it is not that bad though make sure you air down before you leave the pavement. we will probably see you, we drive through those camps to see who's out there. I will be on a red four seater blaring loud music.
