Question My friend wants a RZR instead of a Teryx

I don't know much about the RZR except that it won't fit my family, so I never considered it. What should I tell my buddy? I already told him he should get a Teryx, so he could make a 4 seater, but he's sold on the rzr. Are they reliable? How much faster are they than a chipped Teryx? Stock for stock, is the suspension that much better than the Teryx? He just wants one because the dealer told him that they are the fastest things around and a Rzr will smoke everyone. How true is that? I'll give up some speed for reliability. Are they reliable? Any former RZR owner?

I had a rzr before my teryx... They are a little faster stock for stock, but with equal bolt ons the teryx just gets faster and faster. I personally like the stock teryx suspension better than the stock rzr suspension. Ground clearance also sucks on the rzr. I would hit bottome all the time. The rzrs are TIPPY! If you dont widen it out and you take corners very fast you will tip! I didnt really have many problems as far as reliability, but my friends broke a lot of axles and cvs on their RZRs.

Tell him to watch out for the poor intake design that allows dirt to enter the engine..

Well,
It's too late, my idiot friend already bought a RZR. He hasn't even driven it in the dirt yet, and he's already talking trash. I'm gonna smoke you, is all I've been hearing. I drove it and it is faster than mine, but mine is totally stock. I guess it's time to break down and buy that cdi. The good news is that he's fairly new to offroading so I should be able to outdrive him until he gets up to speed. He paid $12,000 OTD. He could have got a Teryx for $9500 OTD in Los angeles, put $2500 into it and smoked any rzr. Oh well. I hope he breaks alot of cv's so I can say " I told you so ". Honestly, if I didn't have kids, that new RZR S model looks pretty good, it comes with more power and long travel. Ready to go.

The power difference in the sport isn't enought to even consider. The fit and finish on the RZR is laughable. I considered one, took it for a ride, and it was fun, but i have major doubts on how fun it would be for how long. Looking at the poor frame quality, the assinine intake, rickety seats, lawmoweresque dashboard, and overall piss poor workmanship and design, there's no way i would ever throw down MORE money for one. Not to mention the standard RZR is already prone to tipping over backwards, what do you think raising the whole thing off the ground 4 more inches and retaining the same wheelbase is gonna do? Notice how much the turn radius increased by? Wont be something for hardcore offroad, thats for sure. A set of the soon to be released Elka shocks will get ya in the same travel department as the sport RZR anyways, and will keep ya having fun and out of the shop FAR longer than any polaris turd, not to mention the motor has double the potential and double the service life.

Mine has just over 1100 miles with no problems whatsoever so far. I laugh everytime someone calls someone else an idiot for not agreeing or buying what they think is "the best" aaah duh WGAF!! What someone spends their money on as long as your happy mind your own business.

I have to agree with RZRgrl. Any machine, whether it's a truck, SUV or whatever probably will have good points & bad. Almost bought an RZR, but decided the Teryx would be better suited for my hunting use. Did I make the right choice? Time will tell....meanwhile I like what I bought & can recommend it to others, but I don't feel I have to bash anyone or their ride. Just my $.02 P.S. Glad you're having good luck with the RZR.
