Wanting a 4-seat cage,...help me decide

I bought a base model T a few weeks ago and I've been wanting to put a 4-seat cage on it ever since.

I've seen several different models available. Some are "OK",.......some I simply don't care for. Either the overall design is hard on the eyes (looks like crap), the fact that some of them don't attach to rear of the frame, OR,... the price is simply too much,...IMO.

I'm a pretty good fabricator, as I have a 1000hp, drag truck that I built mostly by myself. So with that said, I can turn a wrench or two.
ANYWAY,.....I've thought about building the cage myself (just have to buy the bender and the proper die(s),....or I've cosidered farming it out to a local guy that does a lot of top notch race-car stuff. I just don't know what he'll charge.

What I'd really like to have is a cage that not only looks good,.....like the LTI, TMW, or SDR brands,.....BUT it has to attach to rear most section of the frame, not the bed. I'd also like to have the overall height of the cage 4-5" lower than stock, as well as a bed delete, while still being able to seat two people in the rear.

Is this too much to ask from any of the vendors/cage-builders out there, or am I better off to have this custom fabbed (OR build it myself) ?

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

We build cages like this all the time! Our Standard cages do bolt to the bed, but our Deluxe cage includes a built in rear bumper, and ties into the frame just like you are describing. Our Premium Bed Delete cage widens and lowers the bed area, giving you the ability to lower the rear seat, still have plenty of head room, and of course ties into the frame in the back also.

I know price is a big concern for you, and having to ship across the country adds to the cost, but we pretty much are the originators of the bed delete cage, and have built so many over the years, that we really have figured it out, found all the little tricks, to keep the cost down, and still build a really great looking high quality product, the really works the way it should.

Shot me a PM if you have any questions on our cages, or call the shop and talk to Bret or Tim.

Just got my SDR deluxe cage. It is awesome! I spent a lot of time looking around /trying to find a local place to make one, but the cost for a local shop wanted $1700 for one. I was also wanting to do a bed delete, and will probably end up getting the Sand Junkie kit. Anyways...in the end I am extremely happy with the quality of the SDR cage, had it shipped to Co, and it bolted right on.

What's the size of the tubing & the material used in the construction of the cages?

Also,......is it mig welded or tig ?

The main structure is all 1.75" .095 DOM tubing. They are mig welded, but we can do TIG welding for an additional fee if the customer insists on it (but we do not feel it is necessary for the strength/integrity of the cage).

Here is a link to a page on our site about our cages, and a link to the Teryx Deluxe 4 Seater cage.

I have an LTI cage that bolts "through" the bed to my bumper which then bolts to the rear of the car. IMO its the cleanest way to do what you are looking for I will see if I have any pics of it for you

That's Quite Cool idea . Well you can try Cages or some Deluxe seats it will help you in making your stuff more representative .you can Also Go with Only Two seat Cage . Well they are mig welded , but you can go for Tig Welding Cages .
