Default Dan Kelly wins Chula Vista

Dan just won todays CORR UTV race. He didn't make it there for fridays qualifying so he started 21st, had 5th after lap 1, 3rd after lap 2 (2.6 or 2.9 sec behind 2nd, caught 2nd at the end of lap 3 and took the lead half way through lap 4 and had over a 4 sec lead at the end of lap 4.
Chad broke a wheel or axle just as Dan caught him.
Congrats to Dan, finally a full race without breaking anything and thank you for making us look good. The comentators were wondering what was under your hood, LOL

Thanks Brian,Dan called awhile ago, he was pretty happy.
how everything stays together again tomorrow for them.
It was a real shame that Chad broke as Dan caught him, would have been some good racing. Dan and Chad haven't really got to race each other yet.

Yep, that is the race everyone is waiting to see.

Dan was also racing with an injured hand, he had to go to emergency on Thursday or Friday.

Great job Dan and everyone that is a part of the team.

Yep that was a bad deal on Dan's hand, he spent most of Friady in emergency, did he tell you the full story? Man after that I would have had a hard time going any where.
I told Dan when he called tonight, that maybe he should tie both hands behind his back instead of just one, to give everyone a chance, LOL
Although it's not funny about his hand, that scary stuff, could have been even worse.

Congrats to Dan for Sat win, and the AZ crew for a top three!

SHout out to Greg at Unleashed UTV for helping with Dan's suspension, great to see another forum vendor step up to help out a racer.

Just spoke with Dan Kelly, he isnt much of an internet forum user like us but he knows about the forums and the people that it reaches who are interested in UTV racing.

This weekend had its "Highs" and "Lows" for sure for Dan, he won on Saturday and on Sunday he took himself and a friend out of a race. He never intentionally meant to come into contact with Robert VanBeekum's Rhino, Dan wanted to express his sincerest apologies to Robert VanBeekum and those on his team who support him. Especially, Weller Racing who worked extra hard this weekend to get in a new motor on Robert's Rhino and to XMF who setup the suspension on that car to get it to be a strong contender at each CORR race. Robert is way up there in the points standings and Dan hopes that this incident doesn't keep Robert/Weller/XMF achieving a CORR Championship this season.

Dan also wants to thank those that support him as well for their efforts; Thanks to Ray Fundy for staying up 2 nights getting pistons, heads and other motorwork done; thanks to Jeff Weller for staying up late Friday night putting his motor together; Thanks to Keith at GearOne for building those Teryx axles just in time for the race; and thanks to Greg from Unleashed UTV, Team Kawasaki, FST Motorsports and Muzzy for all their support.

It was alot of hard work but even more fun to go and help out Dan. I would do it again in a heartbeat. I just want to say thats its really cool how all of the Arizona guys stick together and help each other out. Thanks to the Kimbrells for the use of there presure sprayer and thanks to Scott and Jimmy from XMF for the use of there presure regulator that group is a bunch of great people.

You know what happened was it was misfiring on one cylinder for the first half of sundays race and after the mandatory caution it cleaned out and took off I think thats about the time he hit Bobby. It pulled so hard all the sudden that Dan wasn't ready for it and "BOOM". So hey think he hit the button! lol!

LOL, that's what it was, LOL
Yes Dan said he was basicaly running on 1 cylinder for the first half, must of picked up a piece of dirt in a carb or something. Then after the restart and the second cylinder came back just before he got into Bobby, like you said, he went from bairly pulling on those guys with the dead cylinder to closing in so fast and probably wasn't expecting the second cylinder to come back all the sudden.

I was at FST yesterday and the hit was pretty hard, bent the frame real good. I looked at it at the track but not closely as I was ready to head home but when I saw it yesterday with the body off it was way worse than what I thought.
