Talking unhook ecu before doing welding on T4

I am looking to install a couple latches for my daughters car seat in our T4 and was wondering about the ecu. I have been looking at welding them into a good spot for added safety and was wondering if the ecu should be disconnected for this. Any one have a better idea for a car seat safety latch system?

I know fab shops that do...just in case...they just unplug them, weld and then plug them back in...

You can also add a device to the battery that will protect the electronics as well. My cage was welded together on my T4 without disconnecting anything and I haven't had any problems.

Safest way is unhook the battery. Or get a surge protected you get at any weld shop, that's what I use at work and yet to have a issue
