nice post!!! I just read the kawi vs polaris thread on here, hehehe. I don't have any brand loyalty though, I ride a KTM 200 2-stroke, my oldest has a Kawasaki KX65 and I also have a Yamaha ttr-90 and a Honda XR50R in the garage. Now with the Polaris RZR in there, it's quite colorful.
I did noting the jerkiness (If that is a word) of the RZR, it's very hard to just slowly get up to something without slamming into it. Yes, the trails are pretty tight around here which makes me wonder if even the t4 is too long. I don't know though, I have never seen one on the trail yet to ask. I do like pretty much everything about the t4 so far. I just need to figure out if it will fit in my garage and on my trailer. |

hahahaha - The RZR does sound "odd". Last edited by 77rednecktruck; 03-02-2012 at 04:58 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

I ride old trails in tight woods, when it comes down to it, the cage sticks out a bit further than the body all over. I have squeezed between trees on both sides, and I sometimes use a tree as a pivot to turn sharper. I can keep up with four wheelers just fine on most trails, and I guess the riders of the rzrs aren't as aggressive of a rider as I am, cause we usually lose them.
Another thing is if I do get into a deep mud hole, I might get my feet wet at the most, while they are lap deep in water. I have put mine in stuff I knew it couldn't go thru, but my motor is still never been under, looks like the top half of it has never been wet. I also debated this for a few weeks before I bought, but I'm very happy with my choice. |

I've done lots of research as well, and I would also say to go with the Teryx4. I've always been a Quad guy, but having 2 kids and sometimes going out with the 2 kids when my wife is working, there would be no way with a quad. I put a deposit down an a T4 and I've never even drove a side by side! I've talked to enough people who have had quads, went to SXS's and said they would much rather drive the SXS, so I did it. I just can't wait to get the T4!

That's great and I do the same thing. If yu get a tree just in front of the rear wheel you can cut the wheel hard and gas it and swing right around. Works great! This is one reason why I am getting ready to order the skids with the rock sliders from Factory UTV.As for too big the ony issue you will run into is the width. It really is not much longer then a 2 seater. The width at 62" is wide but there is not much you can do about it. I have been amazed at where I can get around. I go everywhere with the quads as well. By the way my comparison is against the RZR4. Obviously the standard RZR will be more nimble but then the family cant come along. Althogh I have riden with RZR's and had no problem at all keeping up. Get the T4 and be done with it ![]() ![]()

Well, I went to the local dealer who had one available and got a test drive. It is definately a nice machine. I got a quote for a blue EPS model for $14K out the door, everything included. Pretty good deal.
Only issue is it does not fit in my garage. I have a low celing and 77 inches is about 2 inches too high. Once I find somewhere to park it, I will have one. |

Where do you cut it from? Do you cut the middle and weld it back together, or take the 3-4" off the bottom and re-drill the mounting holes?

You can see the rear weld in this pic, and this is where I stole the idea. http://www.flickr.com/photos/catvos/...ream/lightbox/ Last edited by Customaudio; 03-13-2012 at 09:30 AM. |

If you cut the cage arms shorter it will change the alignment of the mounting points. Another thing to keep in mind, is if you cut a roll cage and weld it back together you had better make sure you end up with a full pen weld. The integrity of your cage can be really important to you if it ever rolls over.
I'm having a company called noble steel design and build my new cage. I don't think I want to save a little money when it comes to the roll cage. Just my opinion |
