I just emailed my brother the vid of the t4 beating the RZR in the drag race from "itsallcreated", can't wait for his response.
Is the 4x4 system that much better? Again, I have no experience with sxs's but the RZR is not some cheap chinese knockoff, it's a pretty nice machine.
I do like the ability to lock everything down unlike the Polaris which decides what is best for you. I have a new Jeep Grand Cherokee v8 and it's like the polaris, it thinks it knows what you want. I kinda prefer my old 95 Wrangler where I tell it what to do.

I have had my T4 since late december and I went through the same mental battle that you are going through right now for about 6-8 weeks before making my decision. First- decide if you want a 4 seater. If you do then you have 2 options, the Teryx 4 or the RZR 4. Forget about a 2 seater with a seat in the bed. That is good option for people who had a 2 seater and then needed to add seats later but now that the 4 is out forget that option. I, like you, never had a SXS. I was alwyas ATV's and always Yamaha. I never knew much about Kawi but I alway hated Polaris. That being said the RZR4 is a nice looking machine and I really thought I was going to buy one. I test drove both and changed my mind 100 times. Here is what I think you will find.
1- No doubt the Polaris has better shocks giving a plusher ride. The Kawi rides more like a pickup truck vs an SUV. My next few points will show you why that means nothing

2- You have to think about where you live and the terrain. I see you are also in PA. As you know most of our trails are tight wooded trails that are rocky as hell unless you are staying always on the main roads or logging roads. There is NO WAY a RZR4 can ride where I ride unless he brings a chain saw to cut down trees constantly. They are over 20" longer and turn like a school bus. If you go to the RZR forums the guys there will sware they can take their RZR4 everywhere an RZR can go. That is because they ride out west or in Texas etc where there are wide open trails. These guys have no clue what they are talking about and I promise you there is no physical way an RZR 4 could make it 1/2 the places my T4 can make it here in PA. It may absorb the rocks nicer but it cant get down most of the trails to get to the rocks. It would also high center al the time where I ride.
3- Clutching / Engine Breaking- This was a big one for me. The RZR will free wheel unless you give a shot of gas to engage the gears (Yes gas as you are trying to slow down going down a hill

) The Teryx much like Yamaha's and Brute Force is always engaged and will crawl down a hill if needed. I love this and rarely use much break even in really nasty rocky down hills. Also acceleration is much smoother. I felt the RZR was very jerky almost like if you were stomping on the gas.
4- Room- Just go sit in one. Enough said. RZR feels like a go cart on steiroids if you are not a small guy.
5- Handling- in high speed corners the RZR would take the Teryx. It has a lower center of gravity etc. Again, you ride in PA, how fast can you really get going???
Overall I did a ton of research and each machine has its place. In the 4 seater world there is a reason why most Polaris dealers here in PA and surrounding states dont stock the RZR4 and EVERY kawi dealer stocks the T4 and it is because it is a much better trail machine. Yes it is a bit rougher and no it is not a drag car but it is the better machine for reliability and for a long day of tight trails, rocks, coal dirt, etc. If you were riding dunes or open dirt roads it would be a tougher call. Then I would just be telling you to invest in a good tow strap for when it breaks down but you would enjoy the RZR4 until that point

Hope this helps!
