Laughing Teryx 4 top speed and blower fan info

The speed sensor limits the Teryx 4 top speed to 50 mph at 7,100 rpm. I would guess that the top speed in high range would be about 55 mph at the 7,700 rpm rev limit. In low range the top speed is 31 mph at the 7,700 rpm rev limit.

The coolant temperature sensor runs both the engine cover blower fan and radiator fan. The blower fan and radiator fan keep the engine cover and drive line covers cool at low speeds and at idle.

The skid plate air scoops in the floor in front of the engine keep the engine and drive line covers cool at speed. The engine covers and exhaust system have pretty good heat shields.

Kawasaki did a great job engineering the T4 and I believe the race team did have a lot of input in the development. The air filter and belt drive intakes and electrical components are all up high in the dash area. All the vents are up high and some vent into the roll cage.

This is my 7th UTV and I just turned a bit over 35,000 miles in UTV's. I do all my maintenance and repair so I can tell you all the other UTV's have serious problems, from design problems to a really poor build quality. It will cost from $500 to $2,000 to make the necessary improvements for high mileage use. My 08 Teryx has over 10,400 miles and is still in great condition.

The Rhino, Honda Big Red, Teryx 2, Rzr's, Commander, etc. all need major upgrades. The Teryx 4 is good to go off the show room floor.
Magellan, MattN03 and BSC5 like this.

That's what I was thinking, they did a really good job on the design. Looks like they addressed most of the issues and problems that the T2 had, hopefully they get the same upgrades cause that would also be a sweet unit!

The red blower fan warning light turns on if the blower fan fails.

The more direct answer is that if everything is working properly that red light should never turn on.

Hondabob, send me your ecu and i'll raise the speed and rev limits so it will run in the low 60 mph range.

I take my 08 Teryx if I need to run over 50 mph. It does 51 at 6,000 rpm and will run 65 mph on the flats. I'm waiting on a light weight Teryx sport model to build a high speed car. I'm sure Kawasaki will limit the top speed with the speed sensor.

I will be doing muzzy's and BBK later this year or in winter, but I wouldn't mind a performance pick me up sooner. What else can you reprogram, is it worth doing on otherwise stock machine? And what would the expected turn around time be to me in Alberta, Canada? Price? Thanks

Benchmark I have a question
Quick question, do you adavance the timing any at all on the T4 ECU like the 900 XP? you claim 3hp more with the 900 flash, is there any performance increase with the T4 flash or just top speed raised? and finally I see you raise the diff lock limiter to 18mph, can you raise that any higher to say 25mph per customer request?

Chris, let us know about the power increase, timing increase if any, dif lock limiter, etc. If I remember right the dif lock limiter is about 11 mph. The mud and snow guys need probably close to 25 mph. The power steering works great with the dif lock on, much better then I thought it would.

I'm sure Kawasaki will have a more sporty 2 seat model for 2013 and I plan on building one for high speed driving. I expect it will have the top speed limited with the speed sensor.

The reflash available now moves the speed and rev limiters. We are not advancing timing at this time. Rev limit is moved to 9000 or 9500, your choice. Diff lock and reverse are raised to 18 mph, which is as high as we can go for now. Power will be up, because rpm is up.
I also have a specific reflash to go with Muzzys exhaust. This eliminates the need for a piggyback fuel controller.

More RPM doesnt always mean more power. It depends on the power curve. Have you verfied that this engine makes more power on a dyno at 9k rpm as opposed to say 7500 rpm, or is she on the downside and running out of breath at 9k or more?

Last thing you want is ur CVT running 9k rpm till top speed and actually making less power.

My Blower Light came on this past weekend, i havnt started it again to see if its still on but do you know why? do i need to reset it.
Also if i give it more than half throttle it would like cut fuel off every 5 sec. and slow me down and then run again which was really annoying - are these problems realted?

I had that happen as well. my blower fan had a small rock that was keeping it from spinning. I removed that, reset the circuit breaker and all was good.
