I need some suggestions. I'm looking to purchase a Viper Max winch for my new T4 but I can't decide if I should purchase their wide spool or standard model. I was thinking the wide spool would look better on the machine. Any suggestions would be helpful. I'm also looking at getting KFI Products T4 mounting plate to mount it. Thanks for any feedback.

Pretty sure you can just drill out the mount on the Teryx and avoid buying a mounting plate.

I had a KFI wide spool on my polaris ranger. It seemed to me like it prevented binding or bunching of the cable better.

Has anyone used a smitty bilt winch i had an 8000 on a jeep and it was awsome but i saw they have a 4000 for $189

Have you contacted Viper about a mount plate? I spoke with them a month ago and they said they were 2 weeks out on getting the mount plate finished.

I talked to motoalliance a week or so ago about a mounting plate and at that point the person I was talking to said they didn't have one. It seems like some of the pictures I see of other peoples Teryx4's with winches that their winch is offset in the bumper hole opening.....meaning the winch doesnt appear to be centered.

Is that the case or does the picture just make it appear that way? I want mine to be centered and that was my thoughts behind the wide spool.

Have the viper max 5000 lb on ours and we just drilled into the factory plate. So far it has worked flawlessly. It does have to be a little offset to fit in there though.

Another question with regards to purchasing the Viper Max wide spool winch. They have a 55' or 75' wire cable choice. Is there any reason for not going for the 75' length?

longer cable will take longer to spool back up is the only downfall in my eyes.

That extra 20 feet of cable could be the difference between getting out or not. It seems worth it to me.

Definitely wide spool, definitely longer cable.trust me, I suck at driving so I'm an experienced wincher!

Thanks for the feedback. I ordered the Viper Max wide spool 75' today. Can't wait to get it installed. It will have the flush mount dash switch. Does anyone have pictures of where they installed their dash switch. Also I think I would prefer to have the hand held cable socket mounted under the hood some where. What have other people done with theirs? Any photos? Thanks

Don't have photos, but we mounted ours to the left of the steering wheel and it looks good. We just ran the wire through the plastics where it comes apart and under the hood.

They will both do the job.

I'm looking at the Viper also. Can you post a few pics when you get it installed. I'd like to know how it looks and works. thanks.
