Front suspension

Hi All, I am looking to trade the 2008 for a T4 and I'm wondering about the optional adjustable front shocks on the LE model. Are they worth the money to upgrade to an LE? How bad are the shocks on the base model? Also what is the take on the power steering? I'm worried that I would lose some feedback when sliding or driving near the limits. Has anyone compared the base model to the LE to discern these two features?

Thanks

The front shocks on the base model are the same as your 08 shocks (they suck ass). The EPS or LE Version all have the upgraded suspension and it is well worth the money. My T4 rides almost as good as my 2010 with the CST kit with walker Evans shocks, as a matter of fact after my first ride in my T4 I sold my CST and walkers because I knew right then that my 2010 wasn't going to see much action anymore. The power steering is a must have in my opinion. It makes steering a one handed effortless experience and eliminates negative feedback from the wheels. One ride in a T4 and you will never look back.

I would def suggest the power steering. The day I bought mine the sales mgr let me test the base and the eps and although the base model steering performed well, there was a difference on kickback when riding over the obstacle course they had setup.

I recently took my t4 to wolfpen gap and le fouche mountain in arkansas and several sections have nice size rocks and the t4 (eps) performed flawlessly with little to no kickback the entire week. Very impressed.

I dont have anything to compare to because my base model t4 is the only sxs i have ever riden but, i think it rides smooth now i dont race but just for trail riding its great for me

Now the power steering is probly nice, but if your not buying the car out right like me it made more since to go with the base model because you can get a power steering after market for 600 instead of paying intrest on an extra 1000

Get the powersteering to start with. After market powersteering and factory powersteering cannot be compared IMO. Well worth every penny...

I think for my wife the power steering is probably worth it. The kick and feedback on my 2008 has never bothered me, in-fact I think it's reassuring when driving to the limit.

I did not realize you got the better shocks with EPS only not LE. Good to know, that may save me a few bucks.

Does the T4 have more travel than my 2008? I noticed its wider, did they lengthen the A-arms at all?

I thought the upgraded shocks were just LE, not EPS.

There were some changes to the suspension on the T4 but mostly to the rear. They changed the shock so it mounts on the lower arms now and also changed the angle that the arms mount.

Yeah the eps has both the upgraded front shocks and power steering. Only difference between the le and eps is rims, roof, and color.

^ Exactly. I plan on upgrading my wheels someday, which is one reason I bought the EPS, and not the LE. The LE does have decent looking wheels though.

$600 is very low for aftermarket power steering. i have seen $850 then you have to install it. its worth the grand upgrade in the T4.

True Dat!! Power steering install equals major PITA!! And I speak from experience, if you suffer from the same affliction that I do!!
