As for the dunes, we were fully loaded with 4 full size men in chads t4 and ran with everyone else and had no issues keeping up. If I was going to purchase a 4 seat car there would be no other choice than the t4. For the price it gives you the option to spend that 6-7k difference in a lt kit or ecu reflash or whatever. I think dollar for dollar the t4 is a better buy all the way around

They have a pretty good fun factor. The acceleration is very good for the weight. The torque of the V twin and the lower gearing help it get up and go.
7100 rpm =50 mph teryx 4 6500 rpm =63 mph RZR 4 XP 9 not sure but its faster all around. I enjoy it running through the hills on trails you can run it hard it performs well.It has the power to make you smile. It handles extremely well for the 8 inches of travel.Went out with just my girlfriend on a ride with some friends took the Teryx4 out over the RZRs(power steering has me spoiled). Its not the same, but it has enough fun factor for me that I got rid of the S and getting a XP9 now.I felt there wasnt a big enough gap between the sporty 2 seater RZRs and the cruiser Teryx4 seater. |

I was deciding between the xp4 and Teryx4. Spent a few months researching, reading reviews, watching videos and finally testing each one. Based on what I concluded, the xp4 has the T4 beat in speed and suspension numbers, and that's about it. Maybe for some that's all that matters, but the xp4 (& rzr4) fell short in many areas that were very important to me. The sturdy, well built chassis of the T4 alone makes it the better value, IMO. The 2 seat RZRs are fine with their lighter frames, but these 4 seaters need to be stronger; not just stretched out versions of a 2 seater. The T4 is leaps and bounds more comfortable also. The leg room and seat comfort of the T4 will spoil you. The T4 is clearly the better trail machine with the much shorter wheelbase, and the overall handling and performance exceeded my expectations.

I use to have a RZR S and I loved it, I rented a RZR 4 in Moab 3 times to see if I liked it before I bought one. It was fun to drive but it was just to long and to cramped inside. I like to put my kids car seats in the back and there isn't enough room for their legs after the seats were straped in. Also I kept hitting the belly on everything under the sun out there. I don't regret for a second buying the T4, its just as much fun or more then the RZR 4.

If Can Am did release a 4 seater, I am not sure it would be worth the 20k price tag that will likely be hanging from it. |

glad to here so many people with some common sense about the t4,meaning there not buying something just for speed like the xp 900.there buying for design and quality and comfort, really i think they made there own t2 look bad compared to the t4 glad to see they want to improve i hope they do the same to the t2 soon.

That's a good point, that I forgot to mention, about the car seats. My kids have plenty of legroom sitting in their car seats in the T4, and at 6' 4" I'm still very comfortable sitting in the back. The rzr4's rear seating is a joke. The front passenger could use my legs as an arm rest.

Jon I know where you're coming from and am looking at the T4 as my trail machine I can take friends in at Ocotillo and Miller Canyon and use my RZR for going out in and jumping. Your RZR is barely a RZR any longer the way you have it built up! I think when you want to haul ass, you take it out and use the T4 for the other sh!t. I like the deminsions of the T4 over the RZR4 as well as the build quality and the price. Plus Benchmark will open it up to hit the low 60 mph range for cheap. The T4 Joey from UTVUG has is my ideal ride these days.

Did you secure the child seats with the stock seat belt and then use a ratchet strap too? I've been thinking about a T4 so my 3 year son can go (mom & 2nd baby boy on the way at a later date could ride too) and was wondering what is the best way to put the child seat in since there were no anchor points welded in from what I saw.

I have added my thoughts about this many times.
I like RZR's and I very seriously considered buying an XP, or a RZR4 (couldnt afford a XP4). In fact I came very close to getting a XP & RZR4 but my offeres were declined. The biggest turn-off on a 4 seat RZR is you only get a half-ass back seat! I wanted a 4-seater for friends and family so we could all enjoy riding together. If I can't be comfortable back their then neither can they. Im so glad my RZR offeres were declined. Theres nothing about the Teryx4 that makes me regret my purchase (NOTHING!). As others have said... The only thing the XP4 has over the T4 is suspension and power. The Teryx4 out shines in all other aspects. *If you live out in the desert or dunes the XP4's better suspension and power will be noticeable. *In wooded trails the difference in suspension and power is much less noticeable. *In tight technical trails the longer travel suspension and extra power of the XP4 is irrelevant (in those conditions the T4 far out shines in every way). The Teryx4 motor has a little better than the Two seat Teryx, but because the T4 has a better clutch with lower gears... it has much better acceleration (despite its extra weight). I've had RZR & XP owners ride with me and tell me the ride of the T4 is just as good & better as their RZR's on mountain trails. I've had XP owners tell me how extremely impressed they were with the T4's ability to go fast on the trails and keep up with (and even leave) other RZR's & XP's. <-That has alot to do with driver ability but its still a great compliment to the T4's abilities. 0-50mph... I've drag raced a RZR800 and beat it. I've drag raced a exhaust, intake, chipped RZR-S and got beat. I've drag raced a exhaust & intake RZR-4 and it was neck and neck. I still tell people that if they live in the desert or dunes... they maybe happier with the RZR line up in "stock" form... But really I can't recommend the T4 enough. After owning one I'd even choose it for the dunes. You're not having fun if you're not comfortable. By adding a quality LT Kit and BBK motor (along with the quality and comfort of the T4) that would make it a superior dune'r for me (and for about the same price as a stock XP4 too) |
