Teryx 4 vs XP4

For all you guys with Teryx 4. Are you still happy with them. Did you consider buying a Rzr 4xp before? Do you wish you spent a little more and got the Rzr 4xp?

I own a highly modified rzr and love it but I need the extra room for more passengers. My Dad owns a Teryx and I am not a fan of the ride in stock form. I havent driven a teryx4 or a LT Teryx. How do they compare to stock 2 seater?

I was going to buy a rzr 4 but test drove the T4 and was so impressed with it and the rear seating is so much better a full size adult fits fine. I now own a T4 and still have a ranger and rzr s and these last two weeks the kids want to ride the T4 all the time.

Not worth the extra $6000 in my opinion. More rear seat room on T4 and better 4x4 system. Less power in t4. Trails the t4 is better but fast dunes the xp4 shines.

I was faced with the same decision. I went with the T4 for a few reasons, It is shorter in over all length & wheelbase, which makes it better on the trails. I like the ability to select 4 wheel drive when I want it, and 2 wheel when I don't. The seats are comfy, and the kids love it. Get the ECU reflashed to get rid of some of the limiters, and it will just about keep up with anything.Yeah, it isn't a dune machine, but for all around family fun, I think I made the right choice! Plus, the RZR4 wouldn't fit in my toy hauler...too damn long!

Go fast across the desert, Xp4, anything technical or 4 adults and the T-4 shines, Polaris has a quality issue right now, they have a ton of options on the market, I just got a 12 Ranger Crewn and I am liking some stuff but overall, I think the T-4 is built better and the drivetrain is better, the 2 seat XP is nice bit I didnt like the 4 seat and the CEO around here liked the T-4 much more.

That is scary but a simple fix will stop that from happening. The xp4 is long and the back is tight for anyone over 5'7....i need to see a teryx 4 up close but im thinking it wont have enough get up and go

I think a teryx 4 with Long travel would be the best option. More roomy in the back. Wish they put bigger engine in there

I think the new t4 engine puts out plenty of power, you'd be surprised. We looked at the rzr but it was wayyyyyyyyyy too long for what we use it for. I wouldn't be able to go anywhere. And it's a polaris...

I love my polaris. The reason i am thinking about teryx 4 is the price tag, the roomy back seat, and they are built like tanks. I want to make sure the fun factor is still there though.

I have been in both vehicles and ya the xp has more power and better factory suspension but that's about it and it isn't worth the 20k price tag especially that you will have to put money into it and make as durable as the t4. The new engine in the t4 is very torquey and the new clutch is awesome also being 6'5" and fitting comfortably in the front and back is nice. I did a lot of research on both when I was thinking of getting a 4 seater and the t4 was always at the top of the list. Look at the axels and drivetrain components and you will see why.

As for the dunes, we were fully loaded with 4 full size men in chads t4 and ran with everyone else and had no issues keeping up. If I was going to purchase a 4 seat car there would be no other choice than the t4. For the price it gives you the option to spend that 6-7k difference in a lt kit or ecu reflash or whatever. I think dollar for dollar the t4 is a better buy all the way around

They have a pretty good fun factor. The acceleration is very good for the weight. The torque of the V twin and the lower gearing help it get up and go.
7100 rpm =50 mph teryx 4
6500 rpm =63 mph RZR 4
XP 9 not sure but its faster all around.
I enjoy it running through the hills on trails you can run it hard it performs well.It has the power to make you smile. It handles extremely well for the 8 inches of travel.Went out with just my girlfriend on a ride with some friends took the Teryx4 out over the RZRs(power steering has me spoiled). Its not the same, but it has enough fun factor for me that I got rid of the S and getting a XP9 now.I felt there wasnt a big enough gap between the sporty 2 seater RZRs and the cruiser Teryx4 seater.

I was deciding between the xp4 and Teryx4. Spent a few months researching, reading reviews, watching videos and finally testing each one. Based on what I concluded, the xp4 has the T4 beat in speed and suspension numbers, and that's about it. Maybe for some that's all that matters, but the xp4 (& rzr4) fell short in many areas that were very important to me. The sturdy, well built chassis of the T4 alone makes it the better value, IMO. The 2 seat RZRs are fine with their lighter frames, but these 4 seaters need to be stronger; not just stretched out versions of a 2 seater. The T4 is leaps and bounds more comfortable also. The leg room and seat comfort of the T4 will spoil you. The T4 is clearly the better trail machine with the much shorter wheelbase, and the overall handling and performance exceeded my expectations.

I use to have a RZR S and I loved it, I rented a RZR 4 in Moab 3 times to see if I liked it before I bought one. It was fun to drive but it was just to long and to cramped inside. I like to put my kids car seats in the back and there isn't enough room for their legs after the seats were straped in. Also I kept hitting the belly on everything under the sun out there. I don't regret for a second buying the T4, its just as much fun or more then the RZR 4.

Good note on the car seats. I was wondering about that for my two little guys. I think you may have just made up my mind. Now if I only knew if Can-Am was going to release a 4 seat version this summer??

If Can Am did release a 4 seater, I am not sure it would be worth the 20k price tag that will likely be hanging from it.

Here's a pic with the car seats in the back. Still has plenty of room for their legs and my son can reach the bar to hold on.

I was wondering about the Can Am as well, but I'm sure it will be 20K or more.

No regrets with the T4 though.
