New Teryx4-must do mods

Hello everyone. I am picking up my 2017 Teryx4 LE on Thursday. I had a windshield and bench seat installed at the dealership. I am curious as to what mods you guys consider "must do's" to make the machine operate at it's optimal level? I plan to use it for leisurely cruises with the family, hunting, and of course cutting loose and having a good time with my buddies. I need the machine to still be reliable (which I'm not worried about at all) but I want to be able to open it up and haul the mail when needed. This is my first Teryx, I haven't even ridden in one before, so I'm not sure what to expect, or what to change. I am open to all suggestions. Thanks guys!!

Fuel tank vent mod would be my first! And from there, the list continues depending on your riding style. But do that mod and the just read the forum and decide which other mods you want to do.

Thanks for the suggestion cody454. I was actually thinking about that. I am going to order one and get it installed this weekend, hopefully.

Here's another option: Get an intercom and headsets and run your music through it. You'll get more pleasant riding (with or without tunes,) and better quality music. And you won't interfere with people who came to hear the outdoors. I play tunes and take calls off my cell phone.

I sourced an older, portable aircraft intercom and four quality headsets for under $200 on eBay, but the RuggedRadios stuff is nicer. This is, by far, my best mod.

Thanks for the input. I've had the intercom system before and didn't care much for it.

On another note, I picked up the new rig today. Here she is.....

Very nice nvkevin. That color looks great. Who's windshield is that? I like that one with the vent rather then the solid extreme metal products one. It will atleast let some air in

The windshield is made by Ryfab.com. The dealer stocks them so I had them install it. It's a glass windshield.

And thank you for the compliment. I'm very happy with the color!!!

I really like it but according the their website it's about $500 for the windshield plus they DO NOT ship it with glass. So then I have to go spend more money and time to go get glass put in it now? That's almost not even worth it. Nobody near me is a dealer for them either.

I think you lucked out haha I'm going to keep looking for one but I think I may end up going with the extreme metal products one since it comes ready to install

X3 on the fuel vent mod. Lift and terminators if you ride in mud. Clutch kit if you really Mud. Stereo with USB input, speakers, lights, lots of lights, subwoofer, winch, tree strap, snatch block, shackles, secondary battery, battery isolator, blue seas fuse blade block, a lot of dielectric grease, spare fuel filter, 2 spare spark plugs, tiny air compressor, tire patch kit, slime, snorkel that puppy, everything waterproof, everything marine rated, whip lights, lots of rocker switches, anti seize for all the undercarriage bolts, the 2 screws for pushing your primary clutch apart (in case you have to change your belt in the field), extra belt, phone mount/gps mount, flags blazing on your whips, several pairs of riding goggles/ glasses, jumper cables, a couple tow ropes, spare fluids for everything, socket set, dry bags for the cubbies, 1st aid kit, bug spray, fire starter, ax, fire extinguisher, shackle or hook hitch, that ought to be good for a couple months.

New owner here... what is the fuel vent mod you are talking about? Easy do-it-yourself mod? Or should we ask the dealer before we take delivery (next week)

It's a very simple mod. Here are the instructions: Mod to save Teryx4 Fuel Pump/Fuel Tank/Check Valve from debris

All good suggestions here.

Definitely do that fuel vent, as mentioned.

I would also suggest a rear windshield. REALLY cut down on the dust for me. And with that full front shield your going to have some back draft. I bought a TUSK brand one; cheap and works good.

There are other things you will learn along the way, based on your riding style and personal preferences. There are mods/additions to help with heat and cab noise; if it bothers you. Raising/relocating vents and snorkeling if you like to go deep. The list goes on and on.

'15 Teryx 4 Camo
Half Shield - Tusk Rear Window - Kawi Brush Guard
Tank Vent - Cat Del. - '13 Belt Intake
28'' Roc's on M21's - Trail Armor Skids/Sliders
Viper Wide Max 5000

As a new owner, I wish I had purchased tail light covers. Busted a rear lens and found out you have to buy the entire light kit for $100.

I agree on the rear windshield Make sure you carry insurance if you haven't already. Those are expensive toys. One mod I did was had a guy weld a chain link beside each rear seat. That way I can hook my car seats for my grandbabies.....lol
Enjoy buddy, you'll love that machine. My buddies call mine the "tank".

I haven't had good luck with windshields. I've never had a glass but the polycarbonate. They scratch so easy and look awful after just a few rides. How do the glass windshields holdup to the mud and debris?

So far I haven't had any issues. Driving thru mud and lots of over grown back roads. No scratches or anything in the glass.

Whay brand is the rear bench seat? Was it expensive?

I am torn between the T4 or the Mule Pro fxt. The T4 sounds better for trail riding. Just stinks i need to spend extra money right off to bring my whole family riding.
