What works best for the teryx? Buddie runs paddles on all four tires for his rhino. Anybody have pics of some setups with different wheels and tires?

Skat Traks and smoothies, 4 dune stars or similar suck!!! 25x10x12 7 or 8 paddles for the rear. Douglas 8" wide red label wheels. Bar none this is the best sand combo.

forgive my ignorance since i do NO sand riding, but what is the reason for running a smoothie vs. something with a ridge? does the weight help them dig enough to turn well? seems like the ridge will help in cornering.

The ridge does help in cornering but it will hurt top speed by atleast 3 to 4 mph and you also loose some of the flotation which is the key to making a sand tire really work.

^ Smooth buffs. I know it's hard to believe, but it's true!

I'm going to mount up four buffs this season and climb a hill just to show some friends they actually work!

How well do they turn? Ho can anything without a paddle grab the sand and pull you up the hill.I know that they don't seem to side hill very well. I am looking to buy sand tires for my tyrex and don't want to make a mistake and buy two sets. What off set would you recomend.

Be sure to get standard offset wheels and they can grow with you should you decide on long travel in the future! The buff fronts turn very well. I have used just about every knobby tire out there and there is no better setup than what Unleashed posted. Pair them up with light wheels and it's literally like putting a turbo on your rig.... No shit.

I would also recommend 8 or 9 cups for Teryx's depending on what mods you plan to do......

Would the douglas .190 wheels be light and strong enough? I only plan on re jet exhaust an afe intake and clutch cdi box as I want to keep it reliable. looking at the muzzy power package no big bore for quite a while. would you run the 8 or 9 cup for this.

9 cup on the bb kit for sure! My 660 Rhino spins the shit out of 8 cup tires.......

And on the heavier Teryx I'm planning on a custom set of re-enforced, and beadlocked red labels......

Is a 25X8x12 Mohawk on the front with a 12x6 Rim way worse then the wider 12x8 with a 25x10x12?

wider is good with the scat setup, at least 7" wide minumum.

I prefer the red label 8" wide myself. For the Teryx, I would prob go with 26x10x12 8 paddles or 26x12x12 8-9 paddle gliders, due to the increase in performance over the rhino.
