What size paddles are standard?

I'm going to go ahead and start looking on Craigslist for some paddles and possibly an extra set of wheels so I can have at least rear paddles for my next dune trip. My Teryx is basically stock with an MTS +3" suspension and if I don't get extra wheels I'll just be installing them on the stock wheels. So what is the standard size tire with what number of paddles that I should be running so that I don't overrev or bog down the engine?
If I can also score wheels, what would the standard offset (or better) be and what is the lug pattern size/dimension on a Teryx?
For example, these look like 7 paddles, is that the normal?

Doonz 8 paddle or 7 paddle Skat Trak. I'm thinking the same thing, get a rear set for my limited dune trips. I'm going either Doonz or Skat Trax (26x13x12) and beadlock rim. Offsetbolt pattern for Kawi is 4/137, I'd do a 3-4 or 5-2 on the rear (I believe stock is 5-2). I have LT so stock offset is fine for me, you might want to do 3-4 to get another inch.

for a stock engine, your best bet (and the least expensive) will be a setup of Doonz 8 paddle tires. I have run them when my motor was stock on both the stock rims and aftermarket bead lock wheels. they are wide enough to provide the needed flotation that the heavy teryx requires. if you don't want to run the doonz, you can step up to the skats. The skats are not as wide as the doonz, but they have a more aggressive paddle on them. I would probably stick to a 7 paddle with a stock engine. I have both the 8 and 9 paddle skats that i run with my 840. the bigger engine and upgraded clutch really love the more paddles. i have a set of 10 paddles that i will probably try for presidents day.

What are thoughts about v paddles?

I just picked up a set for about half price with steel wheels. They are ITP 26x11x12, going to mount them on stock sport wheels and give them a spin.

I'd definately go with the skat extremes. 26x12x12 seem to be the norm.

OK, 7 paddles for Skats and 8 paddles for Doonz on stock motor. That's primarily what I was after. I'd probably just go with the best price on used tires whichever they are.
I guess if I went to an extra set of wheels the extra inch just for the sand by using a 4-3 offset would be nice. Hadn't thought about that before.
Not sure what 'V' paddles are, is that just an angled paddle similar to the directional paddles used on lots of quads now?
What are thoughts on front tires. Do smoothies allow the front to push to much when turning or does a single 'ridge' on the front turn to abrubtly. I know I like a little slide when I'm turning in and I wouldn't want to much front tire 'bite' when angling into a steep bowl. Seems like those with a single row of knobbies down the center might be the compromise. I know my son's Raptor quad has the cupped ridge down the center of his fronts and we reversed the tire on the wheel to make it not bite so hard on turns.

Buy once, cry once. Doonz are trash. Weak sidewalls. Get the Skat 8's and youll be fine and ready incase you ever do any engine work. Ive always ran skat 8's and do fine in the dunes fully loaded (4 seat)

Can't remember just what the stock wheel widths are but are they generally wide enough to run paddles?

Yes, I've seen a few of them on UTV's, but a lot more of the straight paddle. I've got no experience with either on UTV's, so we'll see. My dunning season doesn't start till about March. If the weather continue to be warm like it had been, might be earlier...

Any preference on full smoothy front or ridged front?

Are those fronts all smooth or do they have a center ridge?

I'd like to know the answer to this too. Looking to get some skat 26x12x12 but trying to save as much cash as possible with baby on the way. Will they work on the stock rim? Cheapest I have found them is $159ea, any vendors here beat that?

They aren't ideal, but stock wheels will work. You won't be able to drop down to 4-5 psi like you can with beadlocks though. Get your paddles and enjoy!

I'm guessing 7-8psi then? Still gotta be better then the stock tires in the sand which, don't get me wrong, do not do a bad job.
