This is a discussion on 27x9x12 Bighorns within the Wheels and Tires forums, part of the Kawsaki Teryx Forum General Teryx category; Close to pulling the trigger on four of these Radials for the new Teryx. Any comments on the rear size choice pro or con?...

I got the 26x9x12 all around and work great but at high speed the rear can get a little loose feeling with the narrow tire

I put the 12s on the back and its amazing how good they work and grip. I didn't notice much of a power loss either

12 on the back for sure. Teryx is way too heavy for all 9's unless you ride pavement.

2 seat Teryx run great with the 26x9-12 on trails, desert and rocks. I don't know how well they would do in heavy mud though.

The 27's will work. The area of clearance you need is on the tie rod and the 9's will fit.

The Bighorns are are great tire! Get the 12's on the back! When you get them, can you measure how tall the 27's are, when they are on your machine? I'm interested in the real measurement.

I have new 27x9x12 and 27x12x12 Bighorns on mine. They are actually larger than 27" being right at 28" or maybe a hair under in the fronts, but not much.

To be honest, I have nothing to compare them to. I just bought it and the tires came on it with only 10 miles on them. Unfortunately, it has something going on in the tranny, which I knew when I bought it, so I am in the middle of pulling the engine out and cannot give a fair evaluation of them.

Who knows, I was wondering the same thing. I'm finding out quick that these trannys are pretty fragile. One guy pm'd me saying he just busted his for the second time, just pulling a hill.
