Wrench Is a clutch kit nesesary if you are only going up 1 size taller tire?

I bought a used teryx with 26x10-12 tires and I am thinking about trying 27x10-12s but I've heard that a clutch kit is a must when running taller tires. Is this true?

You'll be fine. I run very heavy 27x12s on mine without much issue. Have to use low on real steep stuff more but that's not a bad thing. A lot depends on the type of riding you do though. I ride all east coast WV trails.

I'm running 28's, wouldn't worry about it unless moving up to 30" tires.

There are a lot of people running 30's on the stock clutch so going to a 27" tire would definitely not require a clutch change. I went from the stock 26's to heavy and aggressive 28's on beadlocks and really haven't noticed much of a difference, even on technical rocky terrain.

A good friend of mine is running 28/10R-14 on 14x7 4+3 wheels without any issues running stock clutch. If you don't mind me asking, what year Teryx do you have?

We have a couple of tires in 27/10R-12 is you want to stay with that size. The Journey P350 is a solid all around tire:
