I bought a set of tires, 28" Bighorn 2.0. They are brand new takeoffs from Can Am x-3. To my surprise on the side of the tire it states they are 8ply. Also they run small. Basically a 27" tire. My stock bighorns are 6 ply 26" which are 1" smaller than these 28". I didnt think Maxxis made 8ply Horns? Is this maybe a Can Am requirement from Maxxis?

Love trivia facts. Cool. The tires don't feel heavier. I think 8ply should be standard on utv Bighorns. I wonder if they are 8 or its a mistake label?

I know, I checked out a few sites as well. Weird eh?

Makes sense because they are light like a 6ply not heavier like I assume 8ply would be..

Hmm go figure? I will say I love Bighorns. Never had an issue. Just put 160 miles on jagged big rocks shaped like arrowheads and no issues. 12psi. Any less would have resulted in pinch flats. I like to run as low as I can when wheeling and as I watched tires hit Mnt peaks of 10" rocks protruding from the road every foot I gassed it more!!! lol.
