clutch setup

What would be the best setup for primary and secondary clutches for hauling and towing with a '09 750 2 seater? I am not looking for speed, just tired of smoking belts. All i use it for is hunting, it is loaded heavy plus pulls a meat trailer, our trails are primitive at best, steep, muddy, rocky etc. Would OEM springs and weights be sufficient, or is there a better route to take? I just pulled both clutches and the primary has had its day, the secondary from what I can tell, still looks ok. Lastly, Is there a better belt than OEM? I do not have a clue when it comes to clutching, so any opinion(s) would be greatly appreciated. The bike is 100% stock with the exception for tires, they are 27" mayhems.

Sounds like you're asking a lot of your 1st Gen. Teryx. It doesn't have the constant belt tension like the newer model with the centrifugal clutch. Every time you take off the primary clutch engages and "grabs" the belt. Maybe some heavier weights would help? I think VForce John is the one to ask for specific clutching advice. As far as the belt goes I don't think anything is better than OEM.

Use a stiffer secondary spring and if the primary is wore that will cause it to wear out belts prematurely.the secondary should be tore apart and serviced every 1500 to 2000 miles also

I bought a decent used primary, it has a DESA cover on it and a red spring, no idea if that's good or bad, or the why or whats. Secondary for sure, needs taken apart and cleaned and greased. i will check into a stiffer secondary spring. My primary was grooved pretty badly. I may have goofed buying a used primary, but I could not bring myself to giving Kawi 800.00 for a new one.
